I know I’ve posted about this before and I just mentioned it again recently, but I’ll never get over how wonderful it is that you can completely flunk Gale’s Act 1 Weave lesson and he won’t think less of you at all.

I’m not talking about stumbling at the finish line and messing up the last dice roll after you’ve shared some affectionate/flirty glances; I’m talking about bombing on your very first effort to mimick Gale’s hand movements, essentially turning the encounter into a crit fail dumpster fire, ending it as quickly as it started, having a Top Ten Worst Tinder Dates™️ moment—and Gale’s approval of you won’t drop at all. Not even a measly 1 point.

And not only do you not lose approval, he’s so smitten that the next day all you have to do is mention that you enjoyed being alone with him and you’d like to do it again sometime, and he hits you with this:

I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.

my favourite thing about gale dekarios to this day is that there’s literally no reason for him to be talking like that in combat except that he’s having a good time. fully led me to expect some kind of backstory with his combat experience but no he just says things like “i speak, they burn” and “let me recite their demise” for the love of the game

this ask is making me lose it, because all I can picture is Thyneron getting extremely emotionally invested in Squid Game (..lmao) in this bender that is probably borderline self harm because of his rich person guilt complex

and the emperor just being tediously forced to endure it LMAO

that said, regular television watching is probably documentaries and essays of some variety. Thyneron, you would have loved breadtube...

with Gale, very slow, soft, sensual. It's not to say that he didn't enjoy his time with Gale, they were definitely not short on sexual compatibility

that said, if he could full body crawl inside the Emperor's mouth, he would LOL

Speak with Animals 100%. Dead things are creepy and scary! Animals are man's best friend!

I really lament that I never found a spot to include that Thyneron is a diehard animal lover in ALWF (though I did try to hint it where I could). Before he was abducted, he had a full on menagerie of exotic pets in the family estate. All actually cared for by the servants, but yanno. He loved his rare birds and other critters very much, and it carries into his illithid life as well (though with intellect devourers and thralls, since I HC that animals are innately terrified of illithids)

11. what are their thoughts on clowns?
