Speaking of red leather; I wonder if Durge ever used Orin's fashion choice against her while they were arguing about what makes a proper Bhaalist. Orin's right about doctrine, but she's wearing the sacred colours of completely different gods (one of whom is Bane) but none of Bhaal's, is not veiling, and the red leather with white and the spiky torture aesthetic is very Loviatar. Are you sure you don't want to be anywhere but here deep down, Little Sister?

I started shipping Minthara and Gale as a joke but I don't think it's a joke anymore
Bonus if Lae'zel and Gale are besties

what I have taken away from that OC post is that everyone's tieflings (mine included) are functionally dogs

I think people should gas up their own OCs more
What's a mannerism or habit that your OC has that you just love, that is really interesting or easily overlooked, or something uniquely personal to them?
#I'll start#my favorite small mannerism of Thyneron's is his tendency to hide his face when he's scared/upset/embarrassed#it's the sort of trait you would not typically expect from a middle aged man#which makes it extremely cute and endearing to me#though yes it is also meant to suggest that he has a constant habit of “hiding” from things#like that pesky reality...

truly another "controversial" bg3 take
this is gale's exact body type. to me.

#you understand the vision#I never want to yuck another person's yum#but a piece of my soul withers away every time I see someone draw gale jacked

okay now I'm curious and I dunno if this is really such an archaic foreign thing to young people today or if I'm just out of touch
Please reblog, I'd love to see a lot of responses!

Party Banter [2/??]
#truly one of the most enjoyable parts of this game for me#was playing as a crow romancing lucanis#and occasionally taking taash out to play their gay dads#yeah alright killer we'll talk cool badass crow stuff for a while#since everyone else rightly thinks we're distrustworthy and scary

ok yeah so the other day i saw this jokey meme post about people feeling "parasocial" when they laugh along with author's notes on a fic. and yeah it is a funny meme. but it really got me thinking! because i don't think that's parasocial! it's actually just... social!!!!
like i do believe that artists cannot really be "in community" with their fans, but i really do not maintain that opinion when it comes to fanfic. the whole point is that we're ALL fans, right? writers and readers both? so when i write fanfic, it's specifically *because* i want to build and be a part of a community. like there are plenty of forums in which we can make and share art, and i enjoy many of them for different reasons. but when i'm leaving a goofy little author's note on my gay-ass self-indulgent sci-fi stories, that's actually me beggingggg for people to talk to me lmao. and there's this weird distancing thing that happens in the relationship between an artist and the people who admire their work (which again--is very healthy in a lot of contexts!!), where you end up feeling like the artist is almost larger-than-life because they've made you feel all these really cool things and pulled you into a whole different world. but re: this post, that type of distance can really get in the way of building community if we let it. and from the artist's side, it makes the act of creating feel very lonely!!
i spend plenty of time on the other side of this dynamic, too. and i really think it's much harder to be on that side. reading (or watching/viewing/etc.) something i love, realizing that that "larger-than-life" artist is a person just like me, seeking connection just like me. like that is fucking scary lol. but it's worth it!!!! it's so worth it <33 :')
