Lancer and Top Chef need to recover from generating food, so I suppose the implication is that they transmute some of the darkness composing their body.
Ralsei's comment about the convenience of cauldron-cooking may actually be referring to the lack of energy it requires compared to other Darkner cooking methods.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about the fact that Darkners can generate food wholly from their bodies. It's different from monster food in Undertale, which, while made with magic, still requires ingredients and preparation.
#deltarune#there are some dark world consumables that might be prepared through more normal means#but it's really a guessing game#the darkburgers are said to be burnt but maybe seam makes them like that on purpose who knows
