Nori hadn’t particularly joined Byleths side of this war for any reason other than “he felt like it.” He didn’t have loyalty to anyone - no cause to fight for, so he figured he’d go with them, since...he had nothing else interesting to do with the Alliance.

And well...A side involved with not Alliance, Empire nor Kingdom sounded fine to him. He didn’t give a shit about any of their political squabbles.

  “Not like I had anything else to do,” He’d reply to her, crossing his arms. “So what are we doing here, again?”

Even after coming back to Fódlan after 5 years, only her inner circle - that is, her former students who left to rejoin her after she contacted them - knew she was the Lord of Ash. That divergence of identity gave Byleth the freedom to travel when she wasn’t busy leading her campaigns, though she wore a cloak to disguise herself when she did and traveled with a small retinue of her former students.

Removing her hood now that they were in a more private area of the city they were visiting, Byleth gave a sigh before looking over to Nori. She could only imagine that he would rather be elsewhere, but considering he hadn’t interacted much with others during his time at the academy, not as many people would recognize him, and that made him an excellent choice to bring along and attract less attention. “Sorry for dragging you out here like this…”

;; as long as we’re talking post time skip muses..nori really doesnnt change much. He probably made at most a few close allies that he usually has to end up fighting and killing in battle. so basically what im saying is he’s quieter and more depressed but also hes very focused on a goal besides winning because...see next paragraph

 during the war, Nori spends most of his initial time as a commander for the Alliance using his job to track down @pupcor3 aka Allen. when he finds them, although he cant visit himself, he sends seeds he buys, telling them to grow flwoers and plants untl he can get back

and when theyre reunited when he can come home from war, the plans will have grown! so nori post-timeskip he’s actually just soft and wants to go home to his puppy

Taking a moment to look about, Noella sighs and resigns herself before walking over and taking a seat beside the other. She says nothing at first, only glancing his way after opening her book upon her lap, “My apologies. I hope you do not mind, but this seems to be about the only spot where I may be able to read in peace.”

Nori seemed to not notice the approaching individual - or perhaps was planning on ignoring them altogether. Still, he was just sort of sittign thre chewing on a piece of bamboo and reading as well, so he was at least not terribly bored and cranky. Just cranky.

  “Doesn’t matter to me.” He’d sigh when they spoke. Seemed he was a bit more relaxed today and not as eager to snap at people. “Just do your thing, I’ll do mine.”

She listens carefully as he spoke, brow raising some when he mentioned being with someone. She didn’t take him as a person for much interest in others so the fact that someone did capture his interest like that was intriguing to her and certainly did make her more curious.
