why is Derek getting bright pink the part of this that got to me 😭😭

CONSIDER THIS: Penelope wrote each member of the team little sticky notes and left them on their desks/belongings after particularly hard cases

The first person she ever wrote a note for was Elle

She noticed Elle was really beating herself up after coming back home because the team didn’t save the last victim in time

She went back into her little lair and grabbed a lime green sticky note and wrote “you’re a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for”

she sticks it on elle’s desk when no one is looking before walking out of the bullpen like nothing happened

Elle shows up in her office and just crushes her into a hug because the note really meant a lot

Garcia decides to do this for everyone on the team

She color codes the sticky notes for each member of the team

Hotch gets the classic yellow

Gideon gets white

Derek gets the pink

JJ gets the blue notes

Spencer gets purple ones

later on down the line, Emily gets yellow green

Rossi gets orange

Rossi sticks his notes on his fridge at home

Gideon is way too proud to ever admit that he secretly likes the notes Garcia leaves him

Hotch is really startled when he gets his first note because it appears just after a meeting with Strauss

(it’s a simple “you belong here. we love you”)

He’ll admit, it made him tear up

Spencer keeps EVERY single note that Garcia gives him in the book he carries around with him

Derek proudly displays his notes on his desk because looking at them always makes him smile

When JJ’s days get too hard, the days she feels she’s struggling to be at her best as a mom or as a profiler or even as a wife, she’ll sit down and read each and every single note Garcia has written her

They help keep her grounded and offer her the reassurance she needs

Emily keeps her notes in the safe after the mess with Doyle (they’re very important to her)

Even when she’s in London, she takes the time out of her night to read Garcia’s notes because she often struggles to really know where she belongs

She takes them out every single night and can spend hours reading them

She won’t ever admit it, but Garcia’s notes definitely helped her decide where she does belong

Garcia gets special note pads just for temporary members when they come into the unit

Jordan Todd gets little sticky notes with a happy little frog in the corner (her notes mostly consist of Garcia reassuring her that she’s doing amazing work because Todd never feels as if what she does can ever compare with JJ’s)

Alex Blake’s notes have a little book worm in the center giving the thumbs up which just makes Garcia’s notes a lot more special to her

Garcia is fiercely supportive of the younger temporary members of the team

When Ashley Seaver joins, Garcia leaves her multiple notes a day because she knows how scary it is to be in this new environment

It’s intimidating and scary and Seaver is just a lil baby fresh from the academy! She needs reassurance god dammit!!

(Her notes have a cartoony little beaver in the corner and it always makes her laugh)

Kate Callahan is a few months younger than JJ but she is still the baby™️ of the BAU in Garcia’s eyes

Her notes have cute baby animals in the corners and fun facts about them at the bottom

Garcia loves seeing the way her wide doe eyes light up after reading the notes and how much stronger she carries herself after putting the notes away in her purse

Tara sometimes just sits at her desk reading her notes over and over again with a wide smile on her face (she gets light blue)

Matt Simmons gets salmon colored notes

Luke gets neon yellow (yes, even Newbie gets notes from Garcia)

Stephen Walker got pale green notes (she gives the notes to his wife after he dies)

(Garcia still keeps the blank stack on her desk and whenever she misses him, she’ll write him one and stick them to one of her inactive monitors)

she does the same when she misses hotch (when he’s in witness protection), elle (she never could find elle after she left the bau) or gideon

(She still mails Derek, Kate, Alex, Jordan and Ashley notes from time to time)

When a case gets to Garcia, the team collectively pitch in to write her notes on their coordinated color of sticky notes, but use different ink

The first time this happens, she cried for hours because she can’t believe the team would do something like this for her

Derek had kissed her forehead and assured her that they were all more than happy to give her notes because “you give them to us all the time, baby girl, it’s about time we let you know how much we appreciate it”

when she leaves the bau, she has an entire box full of just these rainbow sticky notes that luke gives her

he’s organized them all by color and doodle (because, yes, even the temporary members gave penelope notes)

(even hotch and gideon gave her a few notes on rare occasions)

“read them whenever you feel like you’re missing this place”

she organizes them on her wall as soon as she gets home

and immediately reads through each and every single one afterwards
