thinking abt bullets era gerard and frank has me crying... gee's going through a lot all at once and so is frank and frank's never really been a caregiver before and he doesn't want to mess things up he just has zero idea how to do this but he Tries His Best, his friend's just so small and needs someone to be there for him... they live in this place, with the knives they collected and bottles of pills and alchohol and cough syrup stashed around, and that's no place for a kid, frank thinks. but it is a place for gerard, it's how they live at this point. is it even possible to keep them happy and safe, surrounded by the detritus of being a young adult and speedrunning multiple traumas, when they're so little? he tries. he reads him stories when he's too small to sound out the words himself. he plays guitar for them, calmer songs than he usually plays. he tries to make sure they don't turn nocturnal because of their fucked up sleep schedule; as cute as bats are, sleeping like one would probably not be good for gee's mental state, so he tries to make sure they see sunlight at least sometimes. he tucks them in at night with their cozy star wars blankets and keeps a nightlight on so they don't get scared with how dark the basement is. he holds his hand crossing the street. he gets him stuff gerard wouldn't buy for themself, pacifiers and sippy cups and bottles for when he's very small etc. when gee can't sleep and is getting really fussy and overtired and out of it, frank will be there to hold him and rock him until he's out like a light.

Anyways...

Types of puppies FOB would be!

Pete - very drama Doberman, little floppy ears and such puppydog eyes. Wants playtime to be all the time, and so very whiny when his playtime demands are not met. Needs to be tucked in. Also a tad clumsy

Andy - big floppy Irish Setter. Loves playtime (almost) as much as pete but doesn't quite have the stamina. Needs quick naps where he flops ontop of his carer and provides stable pressure along with some puppy licks. A little 'guard-dog-esque' in the way that he likes to shove himself infront of his carer but at the end of the day he's a very sweet boy.

Joe - very quiet, but sweet Portuguese water dog. Likes playtime just fine, but likes naps at his carers feet even better. Very protective of his toys. Also very big on his crate, which is full of stuffed animals, blankets, pillows and everything a boy could dream of. Perfectly content with just watching TV with his carer, but not without tons of pets.

Patrick - the most spoiled chow chow you will ever meet. Spoiled but most definitely not rotten. Still thinks he's a lap dog (any puppy is a lap dog if you try hard enough.) If the word 'boof' were a dog, this would be him. Very very sleepy too, but after a quick cat nap he's up and ready for playtime with Pete and Andy. He and Pete are definitely the loudest, having plenty of bark-off's that end with little grumbles while they curl up into a cuddle puddle for nap time.

Pete hiding his regression from pat and having a whole little day planned for when pat is out of town for a few days,: coloring books, bottles, kid movies, the whole nine yards. But unbeknownst to him, pat has to come home a day early, and walks into peteys little time! Peteys so scared of being judged that he tries to pass as being big, but mama pat™ sees right through him and soothes him into talking about his feelings. Ends with sleepy petey snoozing on mama's shoulder.
