editing of images
So here is the original photograph that was taken, i felt that the sunlight was very good for the image. There is going to be a range of images from this angle of the window due to having to social distance from my family for a while so i took this to my advantage to get my idea going.
This is my first edit of this photograph i only change the the brightness and adjusted the contrast of this photograph.
My next step is to change the sizes that i would use as a final print.

UPDATE
Within my FMP, I have faced a few health concerns which has had an effort on my work. But now feeling better and getting back into the swing of things. I’m now going to be going back out and shooting some new stuff to help along my project. Now lockdown has been lifted again it will be easier for me to go to my friends and have them help with being my models again.
Within the next week I am going to be doing more editing on photos that I have already taken and getting them to a printable standard. Having theses to hand with help me see actually thinking forward how big I would like my work and also make me think on how many I would like this project to be.

Edit of some images

Having to have a distance so far again from friends and family is so hard and to try and photograph that when we have such a close connection and relationship is the hardest thing in the world.
Having my nan not being able to hug or have a cup of tea, so it has been so hard to go there and take photographs with her standing there. She trys to smile but it is just a hard, but as she knows this is going towards my coursework she wanted to put a brave face on, although i told her that i needed her to show how she really felt.

An Idea
So within my idea I wanted to show the most important people in my life and how it has been very hard to have to spent a long amount of time without them. So here is something i am wanting to look at doing.

Getting this inspiration from Ruth Corney by this having the two metres or a high amount of distance, but i also got the inspiration from Alec Soth by looking through the window.

Artist Research - Ruth Corney
Ruth Corney is an award-winning photographer based in North London. Her work has been featured in several publications magazines and books. The photography series that caught my eye was ‘Two Metres’, now the reason why i can relate to this series more is because having to be at a distance of two metres when seeing family and friends. It has had such an impact of many relationships.

Artist Research - Alec Soth
Nick. Los Angeles.Alec Soth is an American photographer, based in Minneapolis. Soth makes "large-scale American projects" featuring the midwestern United States. Lac works a lot in documentary photography, he is a leading contemporary American photographer.
In his early years Alec Soth was born in 1969, and grew up in rural Minnesota. He studied at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Soth’s inclusion in the 2004 Whitney Biennial quickly led to international acclaim. He is now celebrated as one of the most important US photographers working today.
His first photographic series sleeping by the mississippi, evolved from a series of road trips along the Mississippi River made between 1999 and 2002. The series captured America’s iconic yet often neglected ‘third coast’, and this took Soth from his native Minnesota down into the Mississippi River Delta at the Gulf of Mexico, in this series of work he used a large-format 8 x 10 inch camera. Leading him to create colour photographs mix of individuals, landscapes, and interiors that he discovered along the river’s path.
The series that I’m looking into that Alec has done in the mid 2019, ‘I Know How Furious Your Heart Is Beating’. This is a series that i have looked into because he has taken every photo in many different angles and positions.

SnapShoots
So after just rethinking my whole idea and then just taking my camera and phone and then going out and taking a few snap shoots. Now it’s time to do my artist research, i will be looking into portraits and also landscape photography and photographers. Im also going to look into editing some of theses photos into what i think would be changing into black and white.
The nine images is of my best friend, in the grey jumper she has been affected by this pandemic. She has been the bested friend anyone could ever have and to have only have a friendship which had to be a certain amount of distance away not being able to laugh the way we are use to and just being two crazy pair of girls. Hit us both so hard.
There is three photographs of my Nan, which to me my nan is everything, as she is the last of my grandparents left after losing her husband (my grandad) and the also losing my other nan. My Nan started shielding when the first pandemic started. The only time i have been able to see and speak to my nan would be over the phone and through windows and when i had to take her shopping. I want to show how it has affective us through photography and doing interviews with all the people that I photograph.
The two photographs of the cemetery placks are of my late nan and grandad, not having theses two family members here is so hard, people say grief heals and that time is a healer. time never heals things and the love and heartache you have while losing someone is hard enough but when i wasn't able to really go and just have time to talk to my nan and grandad was very hard for me and my mental health turn and turn because of them.

A Little Rethink
Having some time to think about where i want to take this project, for me losing someone is really hard and people say it takes time but with this project and with the circumstances that with the way we are living in I want to try and photograph the way things are effecting people and peoples businesses. Showing how hard it is not to have support there which you would to be able to get. Major events that affect people and how it is affecting them.
I am going to try and get to some places and see how it is effecting places and peoples lives, this way i will be taking portraits of family members and friends that i’m un able to see and i will be exploring the places effective by this.

Initial Research
My initial research for me was to start we some googling and also talking to people which has been affect by losing someone and how being in lockdown is effecting them. I did have another initial idea of the past and the new now. But then, i thought what about taking photos of my own and the people that i’m missing during this hard time, also trying to incorporate my first initial idea. By having to keep 2 metres apart from people it has been hard to be able to have a relationship with family and friends. Being so close with family and friends i was also thinking of doing portraits of them through certain things ie, through kitchen windows, through the door way with an open door. Also showing how london was before the start of march 2020 and how it is like in a now of day to day life.
Here are some artists i have had a quick glaze at and i am planning do to further research into theses artists.
- Alex Soth
- Roth Corney
- John Stezaker

Major Project 1 - Proposal
My Initial proposal, i was thinking of maybe going back to a previous project that i did at the start of my university and with the world wide pandemic happening i wanted to try and carry on this project to show how hard it is too be missing someone, by not being able to see them everyday and have to be a certain distance apart.
Within todays life we are so distance from everyone and everyones day is somewhat different and also the same. I am hoping to show what it is like to be in an un normal life with what we are having to deal with. having lost all our support circles.
