One blustery winter’s day, a hooded figure left a small baby girl, wrapped in many blankets in a basket on the doorstep of an elderly couple.

The basket contained only the baby, and a paper tag, tied to one of the handles. It read simply, ‘Fyona Felicitus Frogge’.

The couple had never managed to have a child of their own, and they raised the baby girl as if she were theirs. But as she grew, her looks were undeniably too different from that of her adoptive parents, and she suspected she was not always their baby.
