So close to just going for it and writting the one shot I’ve had in mind for years. It’s an AU Barchie. Set in the 50s and follows the song “Teen Angel” haven’t decided if I’d change the ending to make it happy or follow the song completely.

What if Betty gets pregnant but isn’t sure if the father is Archie or Glen. Glen is just like..”Okay when the kids born do a dna test and I’ll be there.” Meanwhile Archie is like “My baby or not I’ll be here Betty. Every Drs appointment, every mood swing or weird craving. You need me I’m the re cause you’re my best friend”

Guys if the theories are right and Betty is/will be, pregnant with Archie’s baby

Or they could do like 7th Heaven did with the twin babies who were always “Upstairs in their cribs” while they shows plot lines carried on and never really told you who was at home with the babies 😂

Ok I know I said I didn’t want it, but seeing as I keep seeing these Betty is pregnant theories I figured I would jump on the bandwagon and throw my own theory on how that storyline may play out if, and that is a big if, they decide to go that route. 

Most of the theories are centred around the part in episode 9′s synopsis that says Betty seeks guidance from Cheryl about a difficult decision. The theory is that Betty finds out she is pregnant and goes to Cheryl because she isn’t sure what to do. I mean I could kind of see this happen, she did get advice from Cheryl when she thought her dad was the blackhood and when she and Archie had been cheating so it wouldn’t be outside the realm of reason that she would go to Cheryl for advice if she did find out she was pregnant. Also I feel like enough episodes have gone by since they started to hook up that it wouldn’t be too quick. The only thing is I’m not sure if episode 9 is too quick after Barchie’s ‘break up’ for her to suddenly realise she’s pregnant but then I can’t lie that the whole they’ve broken up oh and now she’s pregnant is a common troupe in teen dramas so I again, suppose it could be possible. Though I do personally think that if she is pregnant then it would be revealed in episode 10. 

But lets say for arguments sake that Betty is pregnant and she finds this out in episode 9. It could be that she tells Archie in episode 10 and then gets captured by TBK or the Mothmen or something like that happens. That would cause alot of drama because not only has she been captured and is in danger, she’s also pregnant which is only going to cause more worry for everyone. It would leave the midseason finale on a pretty big cliffhanger. 

I could see a situation where, once they get Betty back safely, Barchie decide they are going to raise the baby as friends and Veronica decides that even though Barchie are having a baby she will still stand by Archie and make it work. I think for a little while maybe a few episodes it’ll all be fine and dandy. But slowly Veronica will start to get some feelings of jealousy when she sees Barchie bonding over the baby. Then I think something will happen where both Veronica and Betty need him at the same time and Archie will choose Betty. Which will cause a rift between Veronica and Archie and eventually they decide that they don’t work anymore and decide to split. Whilst I would think it would be ok if the baby is the catalyst for them splitting I wouldn’t want it to be the reason they split, if that makes sense. More their argument about the baby leads them to realise there are other problems. 

If Betty is pregnant then I could see there being some complications in the pregnancy that mean Archie does start spending more time with Betty. But again like with Veronica and Archie splitting, if this theory were to come to fruition, I wouldn’t want the baby to be the reason Barchie get back together. I would be ok for that to be the reason they start spending more time with each other but I would want them to get back together because after spending more time together they realise that they have very real feelings for each other and they realise that they aren’t as different as they first thought. Then of course they gave birth to a healthy baby either the end of season 5 or they might draw it out until midway through season 6, if its a boy they name him Freddie after Archie’s dad because that would be super cute and would make me cry. Then they constantly leave the baby with Grandma Alice and the twins whilst they go off carrying on with their storylines for season 6, with us occasionally seeing the babbakins in short scenes on the rare occasion, because Riverdale aren’t going to want to have to deal with the actual baby and saying the baby is with Alice is the easiest way to explain that one away.          

 Just to be clear, I really don’t think they will go the pregnancy route this theory is more for funsies and just because I am theorising on how the show might handle that storyline doesn’t mean I want that storyline. They are already going to have to deal with Toni’s baby, they’ve got the twins still. But then none of the core four have had a child and usually in these shows you’ll get multiple characters getting married and having babies so who knows maybe. I’m sort of hoping that they don’t go that route, as cute as a Barchie baby would be, I just for one, wouldn’t everyone to be saying they only got back together because of the baby. Also as I said when I first saw the theory I’m not sure I like the idea that Archie has just gone off with Veronica and then Betty turns up pregnant with his baby I want better things for all my characters. I wouldn’t mind if Barchie get back together and then later down the line decide together that they are going to have a baby I think that would be more meaningful than an accidental pregnancy though I know that’s not as dramatic. Still it would be very Riverdale if all three Cooper ladies end up having their first child as an accidental pregnancy.

Older story-Betty and Archie’s son gets kidnapped. The two along with their friends work tirelessly to find him

What if, Betty finds out she’s pregnant. But doesn’t tell anyone. Wanting to continue her per suit in finding her sister. She gets kidnapped/injured and winds up in the hospital. Archie comes to visit her. The Dr walks in and says something like “Good news the baby is perfectly fine.” Archie looks toward her thinking. Maybe it’s the wrong person “Baby?” Not knowing what to say Betty simply smiles, tears in her eyes “Surprise Arch.”

Omg how did I not realize this! If you watched the entirety of Beverly Hills the parellells are there! Brenda and Kelly were friends, Dylan was dating Brenda mostly through the show but always harbored feelings for Kelly. Kelly and Dylan’s relationship spawned from not being able to fight off hormones and cheating on their S/O......it’s does eventually result in Kelly becoming pregnant with Dylan’s child but that’s only in the reboot🤭🤔

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio have said in interviews over the years that in order to make things more comfortable and less awkward to do intimate scenes for Titanic when they had cameras all on them. In private behind the scenes she flashed him, also they would go to each others trailers during breaks and just cuddle and discuss scenes to break the ice and make the acting more comfortable.

Now I don’t ship real people, so this is in no way shipping KJ and Lili but curious if they used any similar technique to warm up and prepare for their scenes or if they just went at it for the first time when the cameras started rolling.

Little something I’m working on

If she was being honest there were altererer motives to why she came to Archie’s house . But wanting to have sex wasn’t THE reason. She was genuinely upset about everything with Polly and Archie was the only person she wanted to talk to about her stresses. He made her relax. Made things somehow less stressful. He always had, even when they were kids.

But when she was standing on his porch and confided that he’d been stressed to he gave her THAT look. A look she wasn’t used to him giving her. Looking her up and down then biting his lip like she was the last milkshake on the planet and he was the one that got to consume it. He’d starting giving her that look a week ago.

Or maybe he’d been giving her that look since high school and was just now admitting it to herself.

Never the less the intense look caused her to draw in a deep breath. Just as Archie took a small step forward, grabbing the sides of her jacket and pulling her into a

deep kiss.

Dominant Archie....that was also something she’d discovered in the past week
