I just stumbled across this and wanted to share it widely. If this standard is adopted, it has the power to be a monumental game-changer in healthcare. There is a ton of research showing how dramatically effective respirators are in preventing disease transmission.

YouTube is implementing an AI policy that tracks your watch history and determines your age with it. The only way to be able to continue watching the videos you want on YouTube if you've been falsley flagged as a minor by their AI is to give YouTube your government ID. This is being implemented in the US right now. It is essential to rage against this and put YouTube in the fucking ground if they continue with it—that may be the only way to make them backtrack. But damn isn't that hard to do when responding to this announcement with a polite but negative comment flags you for violating community guidelines and bans you from even posting it?

Archive.org deliver a windfall of lost music.

If you’re looking for a good way to spend the rest of your week, Archive.org have unearthed a gigantic collection of cassettes from the mid-eighties into the mid-nineties. According to their notes, the collection was saved from the archives of noise-arch.net and donated by former CKLN-FM radio host Myke Dyer in August of 2009. Due to the size and obscurity, the collection hasn’t been properly notated but is said to include cassettes ranging from “tape experimentation, industrial, avant-garde, indie, rock, DIY, subvertainment and auto-hypnotic materials”. Here is a project I did for my Comic Art class about the animal-centric webcomics I grew up with! They were vital to the way I created (and still create) art and stories, and I also wanted to share some of my favorite webcomics! I think xenofic is very underrated as a whole, and I’m always an advocate for supporting indie artists.

I actually finished this a few months ago at the end of my school semester, but never got around to uploading it till now. (With the mastercard/visa stuff going on I thought this was a relevant time to post as well). (Note, this was written to be understood by people both within and outside of the community)
