Jamie stared at his phone only to quickly put it down when he realized the call on the other end was coming form his own mother. A woman who he had been actively trying to avoid for a while at this point. He glanced up from his spot at the table as the phone continued to buzz. “ I should have put that on silent” Jamie replied before looking over to the person he was with, “ I’m sorry what were you saying? I didn’t mean for that distraction to happen”

“If you need to answer the call just do it“, Sage looked at the phone and then to Jamie. “Unless it’s someone wanting to sell you something, I got a call from a funeral home the other day, made me not want to leave the house for a week”.

“Country to popular belief, no I’m not the Stork.” Odessa teased, as she was carrying bags filled to the brim with all things baby and baby shower adjacent. “I’m just a really nice daughter in law that’s helping her husband’s fathers with their baby shower. A really nice daughter in law that can actually use a hand or two.” She said with a playful huff. 

“And you decided to take on this project alone, why?“, Sage raised her brow with a smile as she grabbed one of the bags from the other’s hand.

“Supposedly you learn to love it“, Sage shrugged, “but I don’t understand why would you love it when your muscles hurt and you can’t walk and you’re out of breath. What’s the point?”

“Okay, lesson learned, still not athletic but the outfit really made me seem like I was.” Nathan shook his head, slightly out of breath. “How do people do this every day?”

“Is it the trend that everybody has a documentary now? We have God, curse words, Britney, which are very important. But who cares about a rapper who was just out of jail for murder?!“

“Have you ever heard someone say ‘not my circus not my monkeys?’ Someone said that to me earlier today and I can’t stop thinking about it. Are monkeys notorious for bad behavior in circuses? Why wouldn’t the circus just cut it’s losses and use more trainable animals if that’s the deal?”

“Well, think about it. Monkeys are knows to be chaotic, especially the little ones, that’s what you see in movies but at the same time it’s a classic animal to have in circuses. I think they should evolve and stop training animals all together“.

“First of all, they would owe me one in exchange for my silence and maybe I would find another way to teach them a lesson. You have a double win“.

“I can try, but I’m team these games are rigged. My brother has a lot of luck with these and the claw“, Ophelia looked at the booth. “Are we aiming for the big stuffie?”

Any other special requests….i’ll strongly consider it. I like a good challenge.”

“I am not surprised about that fact“, William tapped his chin, trying to come up with a good idea. “It would help their self esteem, no? Is there some artist you like? Picasso? Dalí? Oh, can you draw me like the Mona Lisa?!”

“I love this time of the year, really. There’s just one thing I don’t understand, and that’s who exactly invented the tradition of Pumkin’ Chucking, and what’s with the catapult.” Cleo looked amused from behind the rim of her steaming cup of apple cider. In the distance the snap of the catapult could be heard as another pumpkin got launched from the end. “So weird.”

“My guess is that it was a man or someone who was very bored and said hey, what can we do with pumpkins aside from food?“. Ophelia looked at the pumpkin, there was some serious upgrades that needed to be done in that catapult, and the angle was a bit wrong if they wanted a longer distance. “Some traditions and game should end, someone can get seriously hurt”.

I don’t want to say my influence, but, I mean…” he gestured between his hair and Zoro’s, both green.

“This is what we call growth“, Sage explained as her fingers opened up like a flower. “Things that were not cool are now cool, unless they’re Crocs, I refuse to put them on my cool list no matter who wears them and how high end they might look”. She looked at the post and then at Penn, trying to keep a straight face, “I can definitely see your influence, Penn”.
