Barry Kusman initially obtained his bachelor’s degree of science in medicine and his bachelor’s degree of science in surgery (MBBCh) in 1973 from the Universty of The Witwatersrand, Faculty of Health Sciences, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He continued to pursue his dream of becoming a successful physician during his internship training at Johannesburg Hospital (1974) and residency training at Johannesburg Hospital (1977) and The University of Florida College of Medicine (1980). He also completed fellowship training in cataract surgery at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami (1981). In addition, Dr. Kusman completed fellowship training in Internal Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Medical Oncology, Cataract and Intraocular Lens Implant Surgery at Miami Eye Foundation (1981) and also in endocrinology and metabolism at Georgetown University. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Kusman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine, International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, Global Aesthetic Dermatology and Cosmetology Group, Global Aesthetics and Cosmetology Group, Aesthetic Injectors and The Medical Entrepreneur Group.
