Y'all realize that if John is truly a new alter at least one has to have existed before him right? Even if the "third" alter (dubbed Midokoto) is no longer in the system/story, he WAS there.

That's just not how DID works. Mikoto has to have had childhood trauma to have alters; you don't just split from stress in adulthood without ANY parts beforehand.

With this distinct difference in appearance, it's plenty reasonable to argue this guy could be John's predecessor (not John, but also NOT Mikoto).

So yeah it's plenty reasonable to think about the other alter and treat him as a factor in the story, whether or not he's around anymore. Bro is not like "an OC," he didn't come from nowhere. Systems cannot ever be singlets because their brain's development was disrupted; if John is truly new, someone else has to have previously existed alongside Mikoto.

So idk how much it will apply here being that this is based in my knowledge as an American, but might still be valuable to mention. Most of the time if a studio isn't branched off of the "big three" (sony, warner, universal) it is considered independent. So yeah they'd probably still be a indie studio if they aren't connected to a giant.

I have nothing against fanmerch being more available, especially as someone who is a continent and a half away from Japan

If there's one pet peeve I have about the Milgram fandom is how insanely pro-corpo they are. I think it's more of a Twitter thing, but the insane hatred of artists making fan merch is so insane to me, and they always cite that part of the Milgram website "banning" fanmerch.

Japan has laws to "protect" companies and IPs. Those guidelines are really just IP stuff and encouragement not to sell voting propaganda / "buy votes".

And it's not like DECO*27 or any of the producers on the project are these small, independent content creators. Deco is literally the CEO of the studio behind Milgram. And tbh knowing the absolute state of the animation industry and the music industry, who knows what actually goes on or how much the actual artists get.

Please make more fan merch. I'd way rather buy charms and stickers from artists than Gatcha keychains for 10x the original price of proxy sites 😭

I love how MILGRAM keeps leaving little details that show us that haruka has difficulty with his motor skills. Motor clumsiness is quite common in neurodivergent people, in this case its fine motor skills and its seen on a daily basis in difficulty tying braids or ties, problems doing manual work that requires accuracy (like origami!! folding or cutting paper, grasping small objects). Gross motor problems involve difficulty moving around, poor hand-leg coordination, miscalculating one's own position in space which causes us to bump into objects or people etc etc
