Nokia Shiramine Headcanons:

well I started with Arata so may as well keep on going! nokia next because i love her so so so much

Okay, I'm gonna get this one out the way first, but Nokia is absolutely a lesbian to me. One HUNDRED percent going through violent comphet, but a lesbian nonetheless. She's all "I think I might like women but I'm a bit too busy starting a tamer group to think about that right now." Especially if you choose Ami as the player character (she is v much my usual choice so hehe)

Like... Nokia would listen to good luck babe and have about fifty different realisations about it all at once. i like to think she'd call arata after that bcs as much as she goes on about how he's hardly as brother-like as he was in the chat, I think she still sees him as a bit of a brother figure anyway. No one is better than a sibling to help talk you through a sexuality crisis (especially someone who's willing to be blunt w/ you like Arata would be.

She might be naive (and even then, I'd argue that from about mid-way through the game she knows full well how dangerous a lot of the things she does in the hacker world are, but she does them anyway bcs she thinks they're right), but I'd say she's the most emotionally intelligent out of the cyber sleuth kids. That, and her inherent near-boundless empathy, is kinda why I think she connects with Digimon so well.

when everything is all over, she takes all her friends out with her to the egg and rice place she was desperate to go to

the sexualised outfit is sorta a defence mechanism, in a sense? don't get me wrong, she does love it and loves being pretty, but I think a part of it is because it almost give her a reason to freeze up in stressful situations. Because if she's "just a cute girl!!!!" then people won't bat an eye at her for being terrified of things, because it matches up with the persona she presents herself with. So in a way, it allows her to allow for her trauma response, which would otherwise stay unexplained (until they all get their memories back, that is).

i think she'd listens to a lot of (g)i-dle for some reason.

she also probably likes love live! she gets really into it i think and listens to the music a lot.

after finding out Arata is good at baking, she could be found hanging around his flat a lot more. She's a sucker for sweet treats, and though she's jealous at how good he is at it, it brought the two of them a lot closer.

she loves her family so so much. Her dad is an artist, and her mum is a fashion designer. She was surrounded by so much creativity and love as a kid, and even as she grew up her parents always encouraged her empathy and love for the people around her. They would always build her up, supporting her through her failures and encouraging her to always stand by what she thought was right. They're her biggest supporters :) Chitose really reminds her of her family in that regard.

Once everything's over, she's by FAR the most open about how much she cares about people. Even Arata's abandonment issues start to show some cracks.

all her bracelets and necklaces aren't just there for show; they all mean something to her. whether it's a gift she got from a friend or something she bought after a particularly hard time, each one of them has a story behind it.

Arata Sanada headcanons:

Because he is my favourite character from that silly game series and I realised these don't just need to stay in my head.

he lives alone, and has a pretty neutral relationship with his parents. he only got into the EDEN beta test because his parents were pretty rich, and big financial backers of Kamishiro enterprises. (Ami did bcs her mum was a reporter on it, yuugo and yuuko for obvious reasons, and Nokia's family simply lucked out when applying)

he moved out asap bcs he wanted to stand on his own two feet, and he felt selfish relying on his parents (he doesn't believe he deserves the support tbh, especially in the wake of the beta test and the fall of Jude.)

He works at a cat cafe that's right next to an arcade. They're both run by the same manager, so he does shifts at both places. He doesn't tell anybody about it though, because he thinks he'd die of embarrassment if his friends found out (Chitose is sworn to secrecy)

he DESPISES most rollercoasters. It's not the height that bothers him, just the loops. They make his stomach feel weird

Though he and Ryuji are on bad terms still, he and Chitose still talk. Chitose is v protective of Arata, and tries to make sure he's getting by. To Arata's distaste, he's always looking out for him even when Ryuji is going off on one lol

He might be one of the best hackers out there, but he's absolutely dogshit at building PCs. He got Chitose to do it for him when he moved into his flat 💀

On that note, I like to think those three met quite early; Chitose was 16, Ryuji was 15 (just about to turn 16) and Arata was 13. The Jude breakup probably happened when Chitose was 18, Ryuji 17, and Arata 15. So about two years after they'd first met.

I've already mentioned this one, but transmasc Arata !! He keeps it on the down low (even by the beta test he was already presenting masc) but a few people he's really close to know about it (Ryuji, Chitose, probably Ami (or takumi, though I always played with femc).)

No one loves their friends more than he does, but he's absolutely terrified of showing it because of the aftermath of the beta test/Jude. Kinda has pretty bad abandonment and self worth issues.

he's incredible at baking, and Nokia gets really jealous about it. Turns out though, he learnt most of his tricks from Chitose.

played desu2 as a kid and that absolutely shaped his gender (look up hibiki kuze and you'll see what I mean,,,,, arata's basically cosplaying him on a daily basis). He's a bit of a nerd for atlus games in general :>

I managed to play the flash game a few times on the wayback machine website!!

I was digging through old files on my desktop and found this! Its an official 8bit cover of The Sun Rises from Okami. Its from an 8bit style flash game that was on capcoms website in 2006. I have all 17 8bit tracks that have been living on my hardrive for almost 20 years. I totally forgot I had these!

Personal fave is Kamuis theme. Wish they had the celestial theme or Okis

like idk why it works so well in my head it JUST DOES!!! and especially through the lens of hacker's memory where ryuji talks to him a lot about Jude being the one place they all belonged and UGHHSKFJHK Arata wanting the one place he felt comfortable back :(( he just wants to belong, and hackers being outcasts and constantly blamed/made out to be the villains can be seen as a good metaphor for... *gestures vaguely at the state of the world* ...a lot of things.

and don't get me started on him and yuugo that's a whole other kettle of fish or however the saying goes
