wait so... so wait what the actually ACTUAL actual fuck???? So varada gets 2 weeks between the scripts and filming, then she has to create her own character??? And they cut out an important part of her character's story bc it's somehow irrelevant?? even tho what I've read sounds at least nice?????????? "He trusted me and the process" no honey he let you do his job. I didn't know her character assassination could worsen and yet here we fucking are.

The Woman Who Fell to Earth premiered 4 years ago today ✨ it's quite a significant date for me so I had to draw something about it

I love season 10 of new who because it’s so… quiet. The setting of the season is the university, which makes everything feel grounded; the Doctor even has a “home” outside of the Tardis (his office). Outside of the Vault, which is a mystery that’s solved midway through the season, there’s no big problem or enemy that hangs over the heads of the characters. Missy would maybe function as that, but instead she becomes a part of the core cast, and her character is given time to be fleshed out. And this was the end of Moffat’s run; he’d established so much lore that he could have easily put in a big overarching narrative about the silence or the daleks or what have you, but he didn’t.
I really miss the grounded energy that this series had, especially compared to the most recent series of RTD2, where seemingly every problem is universe-threatening and there are 50 billion characters that are packed into eight episodes. I think that if the series were to have another season like 10, it would improve the show greatly.

biggest dw fandom pet peeve is how many people will look at this character who cycles through dozens of highly earnest and meaningful relationships with equal intensity and go "the writers have gravely mischaracterized dr who by suggesting they would ever love anyone outside of (life altering friendship #29)"

Ideally one of the recurring traits that the doctor should carry with them is that he's a little scary. Not even necessarily violently scary, just very weird. Though he's a literal rock murderer, the first doctor is not scary. Ordinarily the second doctor isn't scary either, though all he has to do to be scary is raise his voice a little (valuable plot point on multiple occasions). The fifteenth and sixth doctors are deeply and flamboyantly sinister. The tenth doctor is scary for obvious reasons. The eleventh doctor, despite what others might lead you to believe, is fucking TERRIFYING. The fourth doctor is tom baker

manifesting the next tardis interior to be the opposite of the previous one and be all cozy and comfy. similar to the tv movie tardis with a mix of twelve's would be best

"oooh doctor who is finally campy and fun again!" tell me you didn't watch 13s era without telling me you didn't watch 13s era, there was a sentient frog, a man birthing a child and calling it avocado, a snarky doctor who keeps forgetting she's not a man, and the master dancing to bony m dressed as rasputin. I cannot wait for the day this era is properly appreciated the way it should have been in the first place

the point was she wanted to get back to may 24th at 7:30 am cause she had a shift. she had a shift that she needed to get to cause she was a nurse and god knows hospitals don't function without them. she had a shitty flat with annoying roommates, and she drank expired milk for dinner.
she wanted to go back to that, not cause it was extraordinary, but because it was hers. she had carved a life for herself where she could help other people and it was enough for her.
she didn't need the stars, she didn't need some far away galaxy to tell her what she'd always been. and she definitely didn't need another doctor to try and show her what she's known all along.
she wasn't someone's daughter, she wasn't someone's mother. she didn't have to go back she had to be something for someone else, she wanted to go back because she wanted to be something for herself.
the point was... she wanted to get back to may 24th at 7:30 am cause she had a shift. how could you ruin that for her so completely?
