Local Delicacy In Mukah
Mukah’s signature dish is umai, a spicy salad of raw marinated fish with shallots, lime juice and chillies. It was invented by Melanau fishermen who were reluctant to cook aboard their fishing boats because of the risk of fire. Other local favourites – not for the squeamish – include sago worms (actually sago-trunk-dwelling beetle larvae), and lameh, caterpillars that have recently spun their chrysalis. The last two dishes are hard to find in restaurants, but can be obtained at the town market and are often served in Melanau homes.

our doorway
Welcome to the land of the hornbills! Sarawak is located on the island of Borneo, the third largest island in the world, north of the Equator. With its beautiful blue skies and tropical breezes you can bathe in the sandy beaches and palm-fringed state of Sarawak. Tropical showers cool the land with heavier rainfalls during the monsoon months from November to March

Sarawak, where adventure lives
If adventure had a home, it would be the vast wilderness. Grand, green, awesome! Like no other place on earth. If adventure had a home, it would be filled with the friendliest people on earth. People of different races, religions and cultures. If adventure had a home, it would be here when one arrives as a guest and leaves as family. If adventure had a home, its home would be Sarawak. Come and explore our vast wild home of adventure. Sarawak, where adventure lives.

Trekking to two villages above the clouds
The Bungo Range between Sarawak and Kalimantan Indonesia offers an epic trekking trail that is easy to reach from the capital city of Kuching, yet adventurous enough to test the fitness in you. Crossing precariously built bamboo bridges and hiking up steep gradients is surely compensated by the rich cultural experiences, the beauty of the landscape and natural phenomena that awaits you.
You will live among the Bidayuh people, engage them and learn their traditions. Trekking will be your means of getting from place to place; to soak in the sunrise, to enjoy the waterfall and to take in the splendour of what it means by ‘village above the cloud’

Kuching
Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is simply unique. No other city in Malaysia has such a romantic and unlikely history, nor displays its charms with such an easy grace.  The residents of Kuching (pop. 650,000 approx.) enjoy living here, and take great pride in their fascinating city, which is reflected in their attitude to visitors.  Kuching welcomes visitors warmly, but it does not put on an act for them.  Instead it goes about its own business in a relaxed manner that hasn’t changed in 160 years.  To make the most of your visit you must put on your walking shoes, take to the streets (and the water), and join in.
