thinking about talcus... I don't think anyone but me has an accurate idea of what happened with the horn cutting/suicide attempt thing. Talcus' culling views Seem to have changed so much but they really haven't - it still believes that some trolls need cullers, that people are against culler/cullee relationships partly because they do not view cullees as full people, and that a lot of culled trolls shouldn't be culled. none of those opinions have changed, and they were all present at the start of barj. but he understands that cullers can hurt you. he understands that cullers Do hurt trolls. & that's been what's changed, more than their actual culling opinions.

I hope you guys wake up and realize how awful all of this is.

I know. I get it. Communities like this are terrifying. The knowledge that if you make one wrong move, everyone will turn on you and make you out to be a piece of shit and harass you until the end of time?

Yeah. I get it.

The amount of anxiety and fear that brings is truly damaging. It takes years to unlearn this shit. I'm still unlearning these things from the last community I was in that operated this way.

I hope that when you all realize what a shitshow this community is, you have a support system to help get you through recovering from it. That you'll have people there to pick you back up, to forgive you for the shit you did as a anxious, terrified kid in a horrific community. I hope that this community can learn to be kinder, to take care of each other. I hope that they can learn to be understanding. To care about the truth. To care about other people. To be brave and stand up for others, even when it's safer to just go along with what your friends are saying. To acknowledge when your friends fuck up and help them be better. I hope you all can learn to look at yourself, acknowledge when you've fucked up, and try to do better.

I've been working on that. It's been about three years since I got myself out of there and I'm so much better for it. My mental health has improved. I can speak up and say when things aren't right. I can step away from situations that hurt me. I don't fear for my life every single day. I'm thankful to the people who stuck with me even when I was behaving just like some of you. Without them, I'm not sure where I would be. I help them, and they help me, and we communicate without fear. I hope you guys can have friends like that too.

It will be hard and it will be terrifying but I know you all have the potential to grow and be better. You all can be okay. You just need to choose to. You just need to choose yourself.))
