In order to perform their wide array of missions, BORTAC currently maintains a strength of some 200 active agents. Iraqi Freedom

During the Global War on Terror, various federal law enforcement agencies deployed armed personnel to Iraq and Afghanistan to perform a variety of missions. Serving with distinction in Iraq were U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, U.S. Border Patrol agents and BORTAC agents.

From 2005 to 2007, BORTAC agents served in Iraq as members of Mobile Training Teams. In addition to training Iraqi Border Police, BORTAC agents also served as advisors and worked beside Iraqi Border Police officers in the field. From 2008 to 2011, BORTAC agents served as members of the Department of Defense Security Transition Teams in Iraq. BORTAC agents also trained the Iraqi Border Police tactical team as well as Iraqi Border Police officers and managers.

During their service in Iraq, BORTAC agents served in Baghdad, Al-Waleed, Al-Qaim,Trebil, Zurbatiya, Muntheria and Umm Qasr. Clearly, this was a critical mission because the Iraqi Border Police are responsible for preventing smugglers, insurgents, weapons or the money needed to fund terrorist organizations from entering their country.

Making The Cut

Both the screening program to qualify for BORTAC training and the actual training course is one of the most demanding in the law enforcement profession. The requirements to become a BORTAC agent include a minimum of two years in service as a Border Patrol agent, the successful completion of the physical abilities test, establishing proficiency with firearms as well as the successful completion of the five-week BORTAC Basic Selection and Training Course. The current attrition rate for BORTAC training is around 70 percent.

As sworn federal law enforcement officers, U.S. Border Patrol BORTAC agents are authorized to carry firearms on and off duty. When participating in high-risk missions here and abroad (with host nations and the U.S. Embassy’s approval) BORTAC agents are also authorized to carry an issued M4 Carbine and various other special weapons and equipment. Since its inception BORTAC has steadily expanded its scope and mission capabilities, and is now a rapid response unit capable of executing both foreign and national level domestic operations. BORTAC members have operated in 28 countries around the world. Missions have included international training/advisory functions, counter terrorism operations, counter narcotics operations, high-risk warrant service, dignitary protection, interdiction & patrol operations, and tactical training to other U.S. agencies and military units.(1)

BORTAC headquarters is co-located with its training unit at Biggs Army Airfield, within Fort Bliss U.S. Army base in El Paso, Texas. The BORTAC training unit is currently responsible for conducting all CBP tactical team training. In addition, the unit also provides specialist training to other Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. As part of a joint Department of State/ Department of Justice training program, BORTAC has also provided tactical team and counter narcotics training to several foreign governments police, paramilitary, tactical, drug, and specialist units, including the El Salvador National Police's Grupo de Respuesta Policial (GRP) tactical unit.

When conducting operations BORTAC personnel normally wear OG-107 uniforms, or sage green flight suits with a subdued Border Patrol patch sewn on. Each team member is also equipped with a Kevlar ballistic helmet and a Kevlar assault vest. Boots worn by individual team members depend on the operator's personal preference and situation.

Background

Trunks are required to pass VLAN information between switches. A port on a switch is either an access port or a trunk port. Access ports carry traffic from a specific VLAN assigned to the port. A trunk port by default is a member of all VLANs; therefore, it carries traffic for all VLANs. This activity focuses on creating trunk ports, and assigning them to a native VLAN other than the default.

Part 1: Verify VLANs

Step 1: Display the current VLANs.

On S1, issue the command that will display all VLANs configured. There should be ten VLANs in total. Notice how all 24 access ports on the switch are assigned to VLAN 1.

On S2 and S3, display and verify all the VLANs are configured and assigned to the correct switch ports according to the Addressing Table.

Step 2: Verify loss of connectivity between PCs on the same network.

Although PC1 and PC4 are on the same network, they cannot ping one another. This is because the ports connecting the switches are assigned to VLAN 1 by default. In order to provide connectivity between the PCs on the same network and VLAN, trunks must be configured.

Part 2: Configure Trunks

Step 1: Configure trunking on S1 and use VLAN 99 as the native VLAN.

Configure G0/1 and G0/2 interfaces on S1 for trunking.

S1(config)# interface range g0/1 – 2

S1(config-if)# switchport mode trunk

Configure VLAN 99 as the native VLAN for G0/1 and G0/2 interfaces on S1.

S1(config-if)# switchport trunk native vlan 99

The trunk port takes about a minute to become active due to Spanning Tree. Click Fast Forward Time to speed the process. After the ports become active, you will periodically receive the following syslog messages:

You configured VLAN 99 as the native VLAN on S1. However, S2 and S3 are using VLAN 1 as the default native VLAN as indicated by the syslog message.

Although you have a native VLAN mismatch, pings between PCs on the same VLAN are now successful. Why? Pings are successful because trunking has been enabled on S1. Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP) has automatically negotiated the other side of the trunk links. In this case, S2 and S3 have now automatically configured the ports attached to S1 as trunking ports.

Step 2: Verify trunking is enabled on S2 and S3.

On S2 and S3, issue the show interface trunk command to confirm that DTP has successfully negotiated trunking with S1 on S2 and S3. The output also displays information about the trunk interfaces on S2 and S3.

Which active VLANs are allowed to cross the trunk? 1, 10, 20, 30, and 99.

Step 3: Correct the native VLAN mismatch on S2 and S3.

Configure VLAN 99 as the native VLAN for the appropriate interfaces on S2 and S3.

Issue show interface trunk command to verify the correct native VLAN configuration.

Step 4: Verify configurations on S2 and S3.

Issue the show interface interface switchport command to verify that the native VLAN is now 99.

Use the show vlan command to display information regarding configured VLANs. Why is port G0/1 on S2 no longer assigned to VLAN 1? Port G0/1 is a trunk port and trunks ports are not displayed.

You could work for a slaver in Fallout 3, The quest involved enslaving some specific npcs, after which you could enslave random npcs for cash, came complete with bomb collar and everything. So it would not be much of a stretch for them to allow the player to play as a slaver in fallout 4. The collar constantly emits a red light that will strobe on and off. It is very similar in design to the slave collar from Fallout 3. The collar is used to control slaves and can deliver a painful, potentially deadly, electric shock when activated. The collar itself provides no Damage Resistance and no other bonuses.

The total pacification collar (commonly referred to as a slave collar) is a pre-Warprisoner control device developed at Big MT Research and Development Center,[1][2] and adapted by slavers after the War for the purpose of capturing and forcing slaves into submission.

Slave collars have a simple, but deadly design. Encased in five pounds of durable steel is a small explosive charge, a microphone/speaker and a radio wave receiver and transmitter. When remotely triggered, the receiver signals the detonation of the charge, obliterating everything above the neck of the wearer without damaging the surrounding area. The collar's transmitter constantly broadcasts its position and environmental input to the controller, meaning wearers can be constantly monitored and eavesdropped upon.[3][4][5] In addition, the collars are designed to detonate if they are removed without a disarming signal; it takes quite the expert in explosive circuits to get one off without such a signal.[3][6] The collars can even be adjusted to detonate if the outgoing signal of another nearby collar goes silent.[7] However, their simple design can be their downfall: the collars do not have selective radio wave jammers, meaning that rogue background electromagnetic waves can interfere with the receiver and set off the collar.[8][9]

After the war, they have found widespread use among the survivors, usually slavers. However, some also use it for simply ensuring cooperation, such as the Brotherhood of Steel[10] and Father Elijah, without the risk of hostilities.

Characteristics

It is commonly used on slaves, and explodes via remote trigger (usually held by a slaver) or attempting to interfere with the collar's wiring. The captives in Left My Heart - Mrs. Weathers and her two children, Kenny Weathers, and Sammy Weathers - are also equipped them.

Locations

Most slave collars can be obtained through quests, but certain collars, such as the destroyed collar and deactivated collar, can be obtained by the player and worn but don't actually work, as their name states.

It is said on one of the Fallout: New Vegas loading screen tips that there is no known pre-War usage for these collars, yet it is undisputed that they are pre-War technology.

Behind the scenes

Exploding collars are frequently used as plot devices in fiction entertainment. The earliest known use of an exploding collar was in the Starchild Trilogy, a trio of novels published between 1964 and 1969.

CADKEY is a 2D/3D mechanical CAD (computer aided design or computer aided drafting) software application released for various DOS, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Originally released for DOS in 1984, CADKEY was among the first CAD programs[1] with 3D capabilities for personal computers.

Peter Smith and Livingston Davies founded Micro Control Systems (MCS) in 1981.[2] MCS released CADKEY in 1984, the first 3D PC CAD product.[3] After the success of the product the company took the name CADKEY, Inc. and set up headquarters in Windsor, Connecticut. CADKEY won editor's choice and CAD product of the year awards from PC Magazine in 1986 and 1988.

In June 1989, Cadkey, Inc. purchased the rights to DataCAD from Microtecture Inc.

In September 1992, Dr. Malcolm Davies (no relation to Livingston Davies) was elected president/CEO of Cadkey, Inc. Dr. Davies joined Cadkey, Inc. from Autodesk where from 1988 to 1992 he was V.P. marketing and sales. As part of a strategic shift to direct mail-based sales, Malcolm Davies reduced the price of the flagship CADKEY product from US $3,500 to $495.[4]

By 1995, a Microsoft Windows version named CADKEY for Windows was introduced. Around this time CADKEY claimed 240,000 users.[5]

In June 1996, Baystate Technologies of Marlborough, Massachusetts, purchased the rights to the CADKEY product. Previous to the CADKEY acquisition Baystate Technologies had developed third-party software component modules for CADKEY, AutoCAD, Ashlar-Vellum, and Microstation.[6]

By 1999, Baystate Technologies was doing business as CADKEY Corporation, had added significant history-free solid modeling and freeform surface modeling capabilities to the product. A CADKEY variant without any solid or surface modeling capabilities was sold under the name CADKEY Wireframe.

In October 2003 Kubotek Corporation of Osaka, Japan, acquired Baystate Technologies. Kubotek formed Kubotek USA, Inc. based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and continues development under the name KeyCreator. The first version of KeyCreator was shipped in early 2004.[1]
