The 10th house rules our life’s honor. It represents the services we perform for society as well as the reputation we earn as a result. It is associated with the father and the career because traditionally, this is where both our standing in society and the role we performed in society would come from - inherited through the father’s family line. However, in our contemporary world, this isn’t always the case, which is why it’s important to know the grander themes at play.

The three Rahu-ruled nakshatras are Ardra, Swati, and Shatabhisha.

Rahu, or the North Node, is a non-planet object that represents our aspirations, our delusions, and our karmic trajectory. It is uncharted territory, where we are forced to experiment and step beyond our assigned role in life. i've been saying for a while how uttara phalguni (especially the virgo side) have the ability to infuse their words with magic: their glamour spells are hidden in their use of spoken word and intonation, just like hasta infuse their magic into written word.

i think one of the best examples of infusing magic and glamour into spoken words is shahrazad , from one thousand and one nights! i feel like she embodies several elements we can easily find attached to uttara phalguni. in the story the monarch discovers that his wife was unfaithful to him and decides to marry a new virgin every day and have her beheaded the next morning... once the vizier could not find any more virgins of noble blood he's forced to bring his own daughter, shahrazad. u. phalguni is said to be very cool and calm even in extremely challenging circumstances, just like shahrazad was when her father brought her to the monarch. she was fully aware of her fate but instead of panicking she kept herself calm and collected. of shahrazad we know that she "had perused the works of the poets and knew them by heart; she had studied philosophy and the sciences, arts, and accomplishments; and she was pleasant and polite, wise and witty, well read and well bred." all archetypes that we can relate to u.phal! with virgo being a mutable sign and fond of the arts guarded by the planet mercury of knowledge, i could see how this placement could give someone the drive to dive deep into books and education. shahrazad was smart and sharp, with a strategic mindset. the first night she told the monarch she wanted to bid farewell to her little sister if she was to be beheaded in the morning, a wish he granted and allowed dinazade to come into their bedroom to say goodbye to her sister. unbeknownst to him tho, the younger sister was a trap: dinazade had been instructed to come into the room and beg her older sister for one last story before they had to be separated forever. and that's how it all started! the second night it was just shahrazad and the king, and it continued that way for one thousand and one nights. by the end of the 1000th story shahrazad confessed she had no more tales to tell the king, but by then he was so enthralled and charmed by her and her voice and her mind he could not bear the thought of killing her, so he let her live and she became queen.

uttara phalguni embodies chayani shakti "the giving of prosperity through marriage or union" which once again seems to fit this story well as the main characters gained a lot of power thru this union! one of the key motivations of this nakshatra is towards helping others and as such they're are very cultured, social and civilised just like shahrazad is shown to be in the story. in a way, her plan to not get herself killed also saved countless of other young girls because as long as she had the king entertained he wouldn't kill her and thus would not be out there looking for other women to punish for his wife's betrayal. so the theme of u. phalguni using their charm and wit to help is strong in here!

The first things we understand about Clueless's Cher Horowitz (and Austen's titular Emma) are her father's wealth and popularity among her peers. Although Cher's birthday is said to be in April, I can say without a doubt that her moon falls into Uttara Phalguni, as she seems born to a life of comfort and has a general ease in getting what she wants. Additionally, the star of patronage is evident in her compulsion towards performing actions of charity for those around her.

I find that all Phalgunis (either Uttara or Poorva) tend to be gregarious and philantropic, but each individual's expression of this tendency can either lead to good or bad outcomes . Some might take it to extremes and give more than they own, while others fall into a trap of speaking more about what you've done for others rather than actually making a change. Governed by Aryaman, the strength of this nakshatra is "the power of giving prosperity through marriage". Therefore, these placements tend to be the matchmakers of their friend groups.

It can be very common for people to participate in philanthropy just for the sake of vanity or social gain (a great example being seen in this story). Cher's (and Emma's) mistakes were never on purpose, but due to a crisis of ego and a laxity in judgement. It's very easy for UP's to become to comfortable and speak out of turn. It's only once she gains humility and does good for the community without expectations that she feels at ease again.
