this blog got shadowbanned and hasn’t been able to function the way it should/used to, so I decided to take this as an opportunity to move to a new blog!

What character that you’re writing do you most identify with? eldest daughter syndrome king dick grayson for his range in intense emotions, fashion, also lowkey his anxieties and fears-- he was one of those characters I examined and took a lot of my personality from when I was younger too so el oh el

9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other? somewhere in between, but I lean more towards drabble. plotter but I try to plan enough for the writing/story/characters to take charge. and I dont wish I was the other, I really enjoy the way I write :)

10. How would you describe your writing process? messy! sentences are everywhere, written in different typefaces; my writing always starts with multiple outlines that never really make sense at first but after constantly editing at it and adding/refining lines it gets to the place where im happy with it

Hello, Beloved 😊💖

In honour of Cass's birthday, I have a question for you: what colour/s come to mind when you think of Cassandra Cain?

for cass, I always imagined her in dark colors, shadows of colors even: the black shine of her batgirl and blackbat outfit. she blends so easily into the dark of the night that you can forget where you are with her, but she makes the dark comforting in that way too but the black reflects and shines on her. the yellow of the street lights bounce off the black like stars blanketed by the universe. and when you’re looking at her in a dingy alley on a rainy evening, as she just saved your life, the yellow through the rain accents her shadow like falling stars

I think for the most part, beyond all the dark shadowy black and brown tones, she’s surrounded by purple-- its the strongest color I associate with her. but not the brilliant royal purples, it’s more muted and warm, the kind of purple that embellishes the evening sky. cass is just so deeply associated with the darkness of the night, the shadowy corners that line near-empty streets as the clock strikes close to 1AM. but even as she’s so close to the night, she brings life to it: she finds warmth and kindness and love in those dark corners, she finds friendship and redemption and second chances in those shadowy, rainy alleys

I made a color palette that, I feel, captures her pretty well and is based off my favorite cover with her (batgirl #27)

The city’s light was bright and vivid. A haze lay over Gotham, grazing against the darkened horizon with its warm radiance. The sun was long gone by now, its warmth echoed within the streets and high-rises that colored the skyline. Swirls of yellow and orange peppered the earth, synthetic stars glistening down below. Short-lived and buzzing, the iridescent sea of fiery suns sparked the city into new life.

Jason sat at on the edge of the familiar building as he leaned against the stone gargoyle that overlooked the beautiful but damned city. The white-blue glow of his phone reached up to touch his skin, illuminating his features more than the moon or the city’s distant yellow lights could have. He found himself scrolling through his photos and videos, all of you. Countless of images with your smile shining bright against the red of roses, your nose scrunched in frustration over an assignment, your face enlightened by the sun’s crisp warmth as you read his books.

11. what do you envy in other writers? I generally don't find myself envying other writers mostly bc ik writing is a very personal thing and that it reflects on our experiences, so everyone writes from a different place and visualizes the world a bit differently which makes it so beautiful and fun to read everyone’s take on common tropes/ideas/themes

BUT there are several writers on here that I look up to for like different reasons, they all have their own way of writing things thats just so amazing and im always in awe whenever I get to read their work :’) to name a few: @arkhxmknight @krysalla @shattersstar @prettylittlebrownskingyal @magicalbeanie @bonesofapoet @citrinesparkles @angelz-dust @ereawrites

2. tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project I have so many rip but I'm most excited to finish some dick fics I have in the works, mostly the royalty au with dick and this dumpster diving one-- they both have more tangible angst there ig and they're a bit different from how I've written him in the past and I kind of want to explore his character much more in my writing so im really looking forward to finishing/getting started with them

4. share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like) this was hard akfhjs BUT (from this fic):

The two of you stood there facing each other in a silence that was louder than the snow falling on your shoulders. He was looking right at you, studying you almost. But what was there to study? What kind of answer could be hidden in your tired skin without you knowing? And if there was an answer to be found, one belonging to a dire question, wouldn’t it be kissed deep somewhere between his own eyelashes? You knew a part of whatever truth he was searching for, whatever professional seekers search lifetimes for, was with his warm, undiscovered eyes. And if not his eyes, then his soft, chapped lips; and if not his lips, then his summer raven ocean-waved hair; and if not his hair, then his heart—his very pillar of the soul that stood fragmented and uneven yet kind in ways only birds with clipped and cried wings would know. Lonely lovers dream of an answer like him.

this wasn't one I thought I would be proud of when I had written it but after rereading this one a few times it's just so rhythmic, it literally reads like a poem or a song to me, particularly with the way the 's' sounds in "his" and the repeated 's' sounds in "summer," "soft," "lips," "soul," etc. like it flows into one another well, the words slipping into the next like its the only thing keeping you going and you can't stop. even when there's more ""harder"" sounds that attempt to break the flow of the 's' (like the 'p' and 'd' in "chapped" or the 'f' in "fragmented") it fails in comparison to the ensemble of soft sounds. its kind of like a trace for both us and Jason/reader in that very moment

21. what other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?) I love this question omg!!! I would love to see my stories as films, I think they have real potential to thrive in that medium mostly because I tend to write as if my fics were short films. I imagine "baskin robins commercials as unsent love letters" to be a sort of avant garde short film where each section is a collage of blurred, colorful moments or even those stories where the kitchen is the main location, the hue of the light shapes the emotion that hangs over the character(s)

22. do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them? yea I do! they're for the most part ok like my really old stuff have technical problems that are kind of hard to ignore like grammatical errors, typos, etc. but its fun to see my growth through each piece and how far ive come in writing style, themes, story progression, and all that jazz
