I made this corner shelf out of MDF & Plywood offcuts and pallet wood I have been collecting for the last year. Renata decorated it with decoupage and gold infused chalk paint in part 2 of this project. It was a great way to use up some wood that was otherwise destined for the trash!

I made this homemade Mallet for the Wood By Wright Hand Tool Build Off 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP0L5...  And Mitch Peacocks Tool Make 16 http://www.womadeod.co.uk/p/blog-page... .Tool Make launch video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVqnX... It was my first time attempting to build a mallet so I tried to do something a bit different by adding some veneers between the different sections at glue up,it was very hard to keep all the pieces aligned and some moved during clamping so I had to trim the mallet to make it square when the glue had dried

This is a one minute how to sharpen an axe video, I use my small diamond stone to sharpen my new Hultafors carpenters axe. The stone has a 600 & 1000 grit sides. The axe is new so I did not have to use any low grit stones. The small credit card size diamond stone I used would be a handy item to have if you are into bushcraft and use your axe alot. I also use a small strop and compound to give the edge a mirror finish.

I hand carved an Irish Céad Mile Fáilte (hundred thousand welcomes) sign for April Wilkersons new house and shop. We gave it to her when we met her in Ireland at The Carpentry Store! We are huge fans of Aprils and it was so nice to meet her!! The sign is made from Irish ash and the lettering is woodburned on.
