"We all have things we wish to hold on to from our human lives." Carlisle had a few belongings he had carried with him for centuries now because of what they meant. His head shook. "No, no danger here. Not more than any of us are in on the regular. I'm sure she'll be pleased to see you. There's more of our family here, I'm sure that you'll meet them as well."
"She always had her pride," she said with a soft smile, having always found her sister's pride to be something she could never match. But knowing their family, she was surprised that she'd keep that last name - but who was she to judge? She was just glad her sister was safe. "But she's happy, right? Like she's not in a dangerous situation that I should know about?"

"Mmm, I always give you the best surprises." She giggled as they tapped her nose. Her beloved Spike, how lucky she was to still have them by her side. Lifting up the doll head, she pressed it to their cheek. "A kiss from Little Dru." She winked at her spouse. "You've been other things too."
"I do love a good surprise. And especially when that surprise comes from you" they then gently tapped their index finger against her nose and smiled. "My darling I have always been soft for you and you know that"

"Loving basketball into eternity? Impressive." He laughed. "Real dedication there, mate." That was a good question. What had brought on the thought of fencing. "I, ah, don't know really. Probably seen one to many movies with sword fights and decided I want a go. Do you think it's a stupid idea?"
"i think my love for basketball could like extend the passage of time." lucas said with a laugh. a bit of an exaggeration but not really. lucas loved the sport more than anything. and when he couldn't play, decided to coach instead. "oh really? what's brought that on?"

"We're in public." She pointed out archly. "I can sit where I like." Her lips pursed slightly as she stared at the other. "You're awfully nervous, not like there's anything to hide in that cup." Darkly manicured fingers wrapped around it, picking it up. "And just what do we have in here..."

Chi Woo took a sip from their glass. They were thankful to have a cup that made it easier to hide what they're drinking. Someone sat beside them and they panicked for a moment, quickly putting the cup down. "Whoa. I wasn't expecting anyone to sit here."

"Someone actually flew in that?" Darcy balked as he looked at the structure of wood and muslin. He had never been on a plane, doubted that he ever would. Seeing the modern ones unsettled him enough, but the contraption in front of him... "Would you fly in the that?"

"Probably still all the Cressida stuff, I guess." She shrugged. "He's making it out to be more than it is, I think. He told me how we became friends... what Penelope did to me... I can't understand it. I can only take his word for it as Pen's not here, and Cressida doesn't want to see me."
"Eloise is something wrong?" Kate asked, frowning while she looked at her sister. Placing a hand on her arm, she sighed. "Just that he's worried"

Laura hummed at the other's suggestion. "A penguin on a surfboard..." She stepped closer, shook her head, and then took a few steps back. "I.. I can almost see it. But the colours look kinda wrong. Isn't there a movie about surfing penguins? I have a vague memory of seeing it as a kid..."
a brow rose at the sudden change of focus, the art upon the wall was enough to react with an impressed grin. "it definitely is interesting," her breath exhaled a little laugh, her eyes focused on the piece before them. her head did tilt, trying to piece it together as her own confusion lined her expression. "i'm not sure what it is either. it kind of looks like a penguin on a surfboard? which wouldn't make any sense, but," shoulders rolled into a shrug. "i like it, though."

"Bad ass?" Darcy hummed in disapproval. Definitely not the sort of person he enjoyed conversing with... not that there were many of those. His eyebrows raised in surprise. "That's not a way to talk to people, you know. It's disrespectful."
"A bad penny? Jesus, nah, man. What I said sounded so bad ass." Adam replied with a shake of his head. "That just makes you sound like a pussy."

He had been putting off seeing the young woman for too long now. But perhaps Fox had been right, and Laura was the key to his memories. They were connected, impossibly so. "Hello, it's been a while..." He gave her a nervous smile. "Marianne gave me your address."

She didn't remember when the two of them last ran into each other but she sure did remember how it had ended and that was why she had done her best to avoid the FBI agent. But it seemed like the universe was working against her because here she stood face to face with the only person in the world that could truly understand her and her dreams.

"Perhaps they need a third person there to mediate." He shrugged. "That's the only way I think it could work and not have either of them storming off. Someone impartial enough, but not unsympathetic."
"I want to make sure that the two of them talk to each other. A proper talk and not just mean words thrown around and dramatically storming off" she chuckled. "It's clear that Eloise means a great deal to Cressida"

"Believe me, there's very little that can make my skin crawl... even before I ended up here. There's not much that can top an undead pirate crew." He still had nightmares sometimes about seeing those things in the moonlight. They couldn't be described as people. "The ancient greeks had Charon, sailors have Davy Jones." He shrugged. "Yonkos? Devil's fruit?"
"No davy jones, no locker." Shanks shook his head. "Other things to make your skin crawl but not." One pirate and a locker didn't sound very scary to Shanks. "That's morbid. No someone dies they just die. No ferryman. If they are pirates they become part of the sea." He replied with a shrug. "We had levels of pirates but no ferryman. Yonko's, emperors like me, devil fruit users, and whoever would become king." He rubbed his chin in thought for a moment. "No just any pirate can find it. Thought most pirates were trying."

"Good." He smiled at her, pleased. "Well, you know my address. Would Thursday suit you at all? It's alright if you have other plans... we can find another day that works." Rupert wasn't sure if he needed to reminded that the invite was only for her, and that it didn't extend to her boyfriend. "I know, Buffy. Sometimes I just feel a bit surplus to requirements now that you're all grown up." He smiled, images of Jenny filling his mind. "I count myself very lucky."
(¸.• ♛ → "yeah, of course, i would love that." it's been a while since she saw mrs calendar so this could be a good opportunity, it was nice to see giles happy, she was very happy for him as well. "but i do need you, giles. is not just our relationship between slayer and watcher but you know, you are more than just that." maybe she doesn't need him as much as a watched but she does need him because he was like family to her. "i'm very happy for you, you deserve this."

She didn't like the look on her face. She knew what it meant, that Eloise had been more obvious than she would have liked to have been. But she was hardly going to share her woes with a stranger at the farmer's market. "Exactly. Do I want to get some fresh veggies or do I want to get some fruit?"
Simply arching a brow when she noticed the way she reacted to her words, she hummed. She wouldn't pry but she couldn't deny the fact that she was a little curious. "And there's so many options to consider from"

Carlisle nodded. "It's very difficult. Our kinds are not really supposed to make such deep connections, but they do happen. My wife was human when we first met. But human blood bothered my little by that point in my life. If a... vegetarian diet, for lack of a better term, is something you are interested in, perhaps you should slowly transition? Start feeding from both, and gradually ween yourself off of human blood. Of course, the cravings will still be there, but that's something that will be present no matter which diet you choose to follow."
Evelyn listened intently, and understood what Carlisle was getting at. If she stopped drinking human blood, then she would be even hungrier around Karolos. For decades, maybe. Would she be able to be around him if the thirst was that strong? Not once had Evelyn ever tried to resist her desire for human blood since turning. She had no clue what it might be like. “I suppose that is why vampires should not fall in love with humans. Too many issues are born from it. The human must either turn or die. Or they simply cannot be together. I don’t see any other options.”

She hummed dismissively. "Age matters little. The older our kind are, the less exciting they are. Just hiding away in their little caves... My great-grand sire was ancient and he got killed by a little girl. I have little respect for humans but we must keep up with them."
"Something like that, yes." Lestat replied with a slight shrug. After everything that happened with him and Louis, he was starting to realize that might be why he is alone now. "We have to be smart in this city. There are others here, way older than us."

Carlisle nodded. "I understand, Mr Wellick. But you won't be able to call him just yet. If emergency surgery is the best way forward then I'll make sure you have some time to call him. If it's not, well, you'll definitely have time then." He sighed softly. It was an unfortunate situation for the man. "I promise that we'll do all we can to help."
"I just want to make sure that my fiance is included in this. I never want to make big life changing decisions without him" he shook his head. "I know that I will never be free from the pain. I just want to be able to handle it better. The way my body has been feeling lately hasn't been the best and I want to change that"

"Listen, there are some sacrifices worth making, and I say that anything that makes it easier to get good tea is a worthy one." He chuckled. "Tote bags are practical, keep your keys and a book in there too."
"I have never been one to walk around with a tote bag but I may just change that just some can have a flask of tea with me. It does help me calm down so it would be nice to have it with me whenever I need it"
