One day you’re gonna want her. That girl that knew she wasn’t perfect, but tried to be for you. That girl who wanted nothing more than to be there for you, and loving you was the only way she could. The girl who sees your flaws, but values them as much as your strengths. That girl who still can’t bring herself to hate you, even though sometimes you probably deserve it. You did good today.

If you - got out of bed - crossed something off your to-do list - hung out with friends - had a shower - went to classes - encouraged yourself to become involved in a social situation - didn’t purge after eating - fought off the urge to self-harm - genuinely laughed - thought positively about yourself - took a walk outside - remembered to take your medication - didn’t have a panic attack - got some sleep for the first time in a while - etc… All of these actions are equally amazing. Wanna know why? Because they’re all one step closer to recovering. One foot in front of the other my friends. You can do this. I believe in you. (Trying to prove a point to a fellow recovering friend, you are not weak because of your mental illness/illnesses)

Effort makes you. You will regret someday if you don’t do your best now. Don’t think it’s too late but keep working on it.
