I am planning to make a comic that revolves around butterflies and the horrors and angst of daughterhood. This is piece is about loving your parents but not being able to tell them anything, not being able to say I love you, or I am hurt or simpler things or more complicated things. Because sometimes, they don't have the capacity to understand, or the capacity to listen. Sometimes they put words in your mouth. Sometimes they get hurt and lash out. Little by little the burden of this lack of honest, complicated communication piles up and conversation with them turns into a chore. A daunting performance in a rotting theatre.

It's been a rough few days on the run

underappreciated iconic part of the riko roast is neil immediately turning away before riko can even respond and looking at dan to say “dan i said please. i tried to be nice” & the implication it holds that he’s more concerned with dan’s response to his words than riko’s because it both drives home the point that neil doesn’t respect riko and is subtle revenge for earlier in the conversation when riko was treating dan with blatant disrespect and essentially dismissing her as someone not worth thinking about
