Hii, I am I beginner in 3D Modeling as well as animation and I was wondering if you would be able to give me some tips or thoughts? I really enjoy the style in which you are able to create things. If you are not up to that is completely okay! Just get back to me please. ^^
Hello Hi! I think it's #awesome you're trying to peruse the medium of 3D modelling and animation, personally I love talking about this stuff but -- some stuff to note, especially starting off; is that, don't be afraid to make "bad" or high-poly stuff, or even worry about typology for 3D modelling; it's something that actually applies to all mediums, the more you worry about that stuff, like optimization. Can really really set you back in the learning curve, I actually started off making very very high poly models, take this gun for example:
least to say, it looks nice but it isn't optimized. I'd highly recommend this as a goal as your focus shouldn't be optimization, start off making as much details as you like; then slowly learn how to make those details better suite and better fitted, eventually it becomes a hand in with how to solve for any problem in 3D modelling and your head gets a better understanding with 3D shapes. That's just from my experience though;
Starting with a sketch or a reference is extremely handy ; it gives you something to accomplish in a 3D space, you don't always need one obviously but -- it helps tremendously in a workflow to just have a point of contingency in which you can call back to every once and awhile!
I strongly assume you're using blender and something no one taught me starting off many years back was the idea of sharp edge marking, which as it sounds, marks a sharp edges based on your objects edges; extremely handy if you have something like a table and you just need it to look smooth some points, and sharp on the others.
an unrelated thought, but a lot of 3D art really comes down to practice, taking reference from pieces or things of stuff that you enjoy or create and trying to understand it in a 3D spatial environment, sorry this kinda all over the place i'm just waking up, i'll continue it up later with more thoughts; thank you sm for asking ^u^ it means alot that you enjoy what you see and wanna learn more, i really hope you do peruse it! and again i'll try following this up when i have time
