*rattling at the bars of my cage* no, you don't get it. Empire of Death was so Doctor Who. NuWho literally starts with a guy saying death is the Doctor's only constant companion. and this season starts with the Doctor saying "maybe i'm the bad luck". bringing death to all the places they go, when they're just trying to help and see the universe, has been one of their deepest darkest fears for a long time. and now that literally becomes reality. the Doctor has literally brought death to all the places they've ever travelled to. "and it is my fault, cause i travelled to all those worlds. i thought it was fun." !!!! the way the things that are fun adventures to the Doctor and to us often come with so much destruction. and now that it literally makes all life in the universe end, neither them nor we are really surprised.

and that scene where he cuts Sutekh off in the vortex. i think this is him learning to deal with that fear, and accepting that they also bring so much life everywhere they go. that fighting evil makes them the bringer of life. BUT that this doesn't make them a good person. "and now i must become a monster." "because you've turned me into this. i am the one that brings death." !!!!! while ultimately doing good, they have to do terrible things time and time again!! if you want to defeat evil, you need someone who kills it! someone who dirties their hands while trying to do the right thing!!

death following them, and them turning monstrous while fighting monsters... it's always been there, and now it's said out loud.

also: "surely that's what i am. life." wasn't there something about the Doctor being life's champion?? somewhere in the eu? i really don't know how true this is, but there's probably something to be said about it. and then if we consider the Master being death's champion (because of the Doctor)... "i pride myself that i am better than you" said to Sutekh... "i am so much more than you" said to the Master... them literally being the symbols of life and death... "then i must represent life" being the counterpart and the answer to "become death. become me"...

Dear BBC

It seems that you don't have any money, probably due to the Tories or something. Luckily I have a solution to this problem.

Putting CGI in Doctor Who is expensive but you know what isn't? Asking all your staff to bring in their recycling bins and buying lots of paint.

The Welsh quarries are calling BBC. Disney betrayed you, didn't they? You don't need to worry about them when you use an old shower curtain as a costume.

We don't mind. Our eyes bled when we saw a CGI judoon. We physically retched at some of the environments you placed Doctor Who in.

But we're still watching episodes from the 1970s, aren't we?

Give us cardboard, give us plasterboard, give us foam, give us plastic, give us natural light, give us piles of rubble, give us silver paint, give us props the actors can interact with
