after the whole saw trap debacle, adam went through a period of isolation, trying to distance himself from all that he was since thats what got him there in the first place. new surname, new career path, new town, everything. i like to think he works at an animal shelter and fosters animals when he can

inevitably thats how lawrence finds him again, credited in some newspaper article with a minuscule picture of him with the name ‘adam radford’ beside it

at this point lawrence is ass deep in jigsaw shenanigans, and he knows for certain adam died in that room. his body was still in that bathroom. he visits adam regularly just to talk. right?

hoffman had to show up in this au though so heres his part lmao… he was supposed to grab adams body from the bathroom as there was some intent to reuse the room, and he panicked when there was nothing but a smear of blood leading to the very open door. so, after giving some excuses about how the room wasnt fit for whatever they were planning, he grabbed someone similar in build, was gracious enough to put them out of their misery beforehand, and put them in the shackle instead. nailed it. hoffman style.

it takes a very very long time for lawrence to slowly get back in contact with adam, obviously, but when they are back together theyre completely inseparable

im not sure if they would call each other husbands tbh, but at the ‘current point in time’ in my au theyre living together and have rings with their initials carved on the inside. lawrence is your nerd uncle and adam is the ‘good friend’ he lives with and brings to every family gathering vibes.

i could probably go on more tbh, this is already pretty long for me on mobile lol….my bad g

now that im back in the swing of things, @si11ylittlekid !!! heres my take on an adam lives au !!! putting the details under the cut bc im rambling lmao

im a big fan of the idea of him using the cisterns lid to crush his foot to slip out of the shackle, and that kind of injury is hard to heal right, especially when youve been dragging it around a sewer for god knows how long

so! while it may have ‘healed’ he still has some significant nerve damage, leaving it mostly numb unless theres too much pressure on it, which results in painful pins and needles

he also has several fused joints in his foot to improve stability and reduce the pain of his bones no longer quite fitting together after all that trauma

personally i cant see him with a cane like lawrence, but he definitely needs something to take the weight off of that foot, so i thought a forearm crutch would be more his thing. i just KNOW he teases lawrence about his cane too smh

and as a reward for all this pain and suffering he gets an eyebrow piercing and shaggier hair! :)! but yeah thats it thank u for reading :)
