Today’s hermit portrait is based off of “Portrait of a Young Woman” by Edgar Degas! I didn’t realize it until now, but I’ve used a lot of Edgar Degas’s paintings for hermitaday this year?

Hermit a Day May 13: Joel

In spite of his outwardly cutesy appearance and goofy demeanor, Joel is actually an academic who specializes in archaeological ethics and does lots of consulting work for independent exploration teams and guilds. However, he also does some work as an explorer, partnered with his wife Lizzie. She is a prolific underwater explorer who will occasionally take a landbound job so that she and Joel can work together. Before he was partnered with the Hermit guild, he did lots of work with the Empires guild and probably prevented a lot of unethical explorations (mostly on Fwhip, Gem, and Sausage’s parts).

Scar's dresses that he changes every 5 hours and then never wears again... my textile waste diva... (+ one of the rejected dress ideas for the ugly thang. I know 6 maids were wrestling and holding him down tryna get him to wear the outfit. And then they take one picture of him, and he immediately shakes it off and starts running away)
