I love being an it/its user because I am just a regular living organism who was born into social systems of gender and is forced to play around within them- everyone is labelled from birth. my relationship to those labels has nothing to do with most things. a sense of distinct preference (which I do not bear) isn’t so important as the function of my mentioning.

I am still trans. I will always still be trans. no amount of “back and forth” will change the coming-up-on-9-years I’ve been out to an accepting family and being referred to- sometimes as a man, sometimes as a woman, neither… your long lost human sibling separated by a sea of eggshells one may or may not feel compelled to cross. water, eggshells, either one is difficult to walk upon. combine the two- i’m usually referred to with intention or in talks I’ll never hear.

I don’t care about what I’m called so much as the context under which you are referring to me. who are you, what is your intention, and what is the topic of discussion? how would different perceptions of my gender change your tone towards my actual words as they apply in proper context?

I've never been one to complain about rainbow capitalism anyway and in 2025 I am firmly "I will take whatever I can get" but I wish that conversation ever focused on whether companies putting pride themed logos on their social media accounts have homophobic or transphobic policies behind the scenes. Subaru was notable in the 90s because when their market research showed their cars were popular with lesbians and they decided to start actively advertising to them, they backed that up with policies for their LGBTQ employees, notably extending benefits to same-sex partners when gay couples couldn't legally get married, which was a big deal at the time. If a company is doing rainbow capitalism in public but have a history of employees complaining about discrimination we should talk about that but that's never what the generic complaints about rainbow capitalism are.

I no longer attribute this to a mismatched soul-with-body because I can no longer believe in the existence of a soul that is independant of the body, except through bodies of work be they creative or otherwise.

I still believe the Human Identity forced upon many cultural subsections is reductive at best.. We have always been and always will be a natural occurrence on this planet, and it’s ridiculous how people will broadly remove themselves from nature with only occasional exceptions.

pop psychology and such will make you project these Types Of Person onto individuals you know nothing bout but their looks… an effort to quell untreated trauma responses which only makes them worse.

we know love is out there but sometimes people just get less than they want or need and it sucks to see lacking projected outwards.

back to human identity:

you gotta understand the organism in some ways, but honestly the mind is so expansive and we can do more with our bodies than many people have been taught (I.e. modification be it through exercise or hrt or even just makeup.)

the internet forces people to confront the control which you can take over your own form independently of others- people can do whatever they want, and confronting this can throw off an individual’s sense of balance..

that is, until the person decides whether it should prioritize a sense of security, or definite outward expansion, in that fraction of that moment, which, it too is merely a node.

I spent much of my teen years- both conscious and subconscious- “preparing” for things which never came… and never will, because priorities of me and mine have changed in ways that are unimaginably drastic.

The fruits of my effort were different than seeds’ packaging implied but I don’t think that trying to be more normal was actually “wasted effort”. I don’t believe that anything at all is “wasted effort”.

“security” isn’t the gatekeeper of joy, but it’s okay if it appears as such … personally i have to have a bit of fun in some areas of life some of the time, or i will die!

although on the flip side of “life isn’t gonna wait for you” I’ve learned that the aftermath of such joyous catharsis may just be a crash back to earth. It is on you alone to build and fluff-up the landing pad onto which you fall.

i guess i value independence highly but nobody survives without a community- even solo travellers should look to past writings in order to identify what’s fit for consumption.

Portable stove is such a good invention, now fire bans are NOTHING to me.. ok a little sad because fire is FUN. BUT so is just playing in the forest and not fucking engaging with anything else at all for a day. No phone use not even listening to music. I had a buddy but we barely interacted until it was time for bed. Everyone needs forest around them. Not as a matter of tourism, just, that’s where we’re supposed to be sometimes… like as a species…..

not everyone is as comfortable with “the bushes” due to upbringing and shit, but if ur feeling down, CONSIDER when you’ve gone outside regularly for long periods (more than just what’s “necessary”). I know it’s not a cure all but if u can manage, over time it helps with some things.

Being outside makes me think shit like “it feels so good to be alone with my thoughts rn”. Not a sentence that I in the past would ever predict myself to say.
