William rolled his eyes lightly as Bennett tried to parent him, but didn’t comment. “I have no idea... but where on earth did it go?”

“You’re welcome. I think you would be the best parent out of any of us, really. Emily not included, but just out of us siblings. I could see you being the fun one,” Ellie replied with a laugh. His children would be lucky to have him as their father. When he said that she’ll be a wonderful mother, she smiled. “I appreciate that, and I hope you’re right. I’m just not exactly the maternal type, I guess.” And there she was pregnant, already defying her expectations. “We’re not exactly together, really… But I would like us to be. She’s been really supportive of this whole being pregnant thing.”
William laughed, thinking about Elizabeth’s comment. He would most definitely be the fun one, and could picture himself having a rather lax parenting style. “I think that is pretty accurate.” When she mentioned not being the maternal type, he sighed. “I think everyone thinks that about themselves at one point or another. Even men think that they aren’t parent material sometimes, but I guarantee your views will likely change. Well, I guess that begs the question if she wants to be with you as well. I’m glad that you have her to lean on, at least. Of course, you have Bennett, Emily and I as well, but I’m sure it’s not the same.”

“I can convince you of a lot of things,” Emily narrowed her eyes at him playfully, kissing his cheek. “I know I’m cute. Pregnant wives are always adorable- especially yours.” She grinned, not having given up quite yet on distracting him. “I always liked James, and that is your middle name. But I honestly have hardly thought about it. What about you?”
“True, but not something this important. That is also true,” he smiled, his hands moving down to her waist. “I do like the name James, and I’m not just saying it because I am biased,” Will chuckled. “I don’t know... I always thought about possibly honoring my father by incorporating his name, but I’m not sure if I am set in stone on that.” It was up in the air, for Will. “We will surely come up with the perfect name if we give it time. We’ve got a lot of it, before he’s here.”

“Today, fine,” Emily sighed, letting herself relax into his arms. She was tired of pretending to be perfectly fine, it was actually exhausting. “One of the nurses accidentally let it slip out; she thought we already knew.” She wasn’t against finding out, either, but she knew Will would have wanted to be there. At least this way, she tried to make it special. Her lips formed a pout when mentioned the infirmary again and she leaned forward, pressing her lips to his as if to distract him. Her hands slid down his waist, pulling him closer to her. “We can think of baby names, that’d be fun,” she smiled, kissing him again.
Smiling softly when he got her to agree, Will nodded. “Oh, I see. No matter... I’m just excited that we do know now.” It would have been nice to have been there, but he thought the way Emily went about telling him was very creative and quirky. He enjoyed finding out in a fun way much better. Kissing her back, he hummed against her lips. “Mmm... I know what you’re doing, you’re not going to convince me to let you skip the infirmary,” he smirked, stroking her cheek with his thumb. “You’re cute, though.” A chuckle escaped his lips, nodding in agreement that thinking of names would be fun. “Do you have any in mind yet?”

“I’m so glad you are. You’re going to be a wonderful father,” She replied, glad that her nephew would have such wonderful and loving parents. She knew that both Emily and Will would be perfect. When he asked what she was having she shrugged her shoulders. “I haven’t found out yet. I think that I can find out if I want, I was just thinking I might bring Jane along if she wanted to go with me.”
“Thank you. I really appreciate that.” William had always wondered what it would be like to become a father, and had often pictured himself as a decent one if not great, though he wasn’t sure he could judge himself on that aspect. He had confidence that he and Emily would both be good parents, though. “For what its worth, you’ll be a wonderful mother, as well. You just have to believe you will be. I think that is a wonderful idea, to take her with you. Are the two of you together now?”

“He knew that Elizabeth is pregnant.” Claire wasn’t sure how Anthony had figured that out, she was fairly sure he had cornered Elizabeth herself. “Why Elizabeth? Wait, Bennett might not take the throne?” The last they’d talked, he was sort of considering not taking it, but it had been a while. She didn’t think he was serious. “Well, yes, I live with my fiancé, but that doesn’t mean– nobody there knows my last name, yet.” And once they did, she was afraid she’d be kicked out, or locked up, and separated from Toulouse. But maybe Will had more pull than she realized. “Can’t I heal at home? Isn’t there someone who knows medicine around here?”
“It’s a very long story, and not mine to tell.” Leaving it at that, Will said no more. “I think he’s considering giving it up. I’m not positive though, so I cannot say for sure.” From his understanding, his brother had always had concerns about ruling France, but it seemed he was more willing than before to give it up, most likely for Teddy. “If no one knows your last name then why don’t you give them your fiancé’s last name?” He wondered if that was an option for her. “No, I’m afraid not. Well, I’m not positive, but I am positive that the infirmary can help you, quicker than trying to find someone else. Stop worrying, you’re hurt. They can help.” Whether Claire wanted him to or not, he was taking her to the infirmary.

“I hope so too. I will try to be as patient as mother always has been.” Ellie knew that she would have to learn to be a good mother, but she was certain that she could do it. “I’m glad you think so. I did like getting to talk to her before the wedding.” It had made her feel a lot better, even though she had still been bitter over being pregnant at the time. She figured this time would be better. When he told her they were having a boy she smiled brightly. “I had a feeling it would be a boy. Are you excited?”
“I am very excited,” William gushed, clearly not over getting the news. He had already been excited about getting to become a father, but now that he knew that he would be having a son, he was even more excited to think about all of the things he would get to teach him. Sports, how to play pranks around the castle, all kinds of fun things. “Do you know what you’re having yet? Or is it too soon for that?”

“Right now?” Emily rose a brow, not sure if she’d agree to that little stipulation. Will was overprotective, but she actually appreciated that about him, even when it drove her crazy. She laughed at his reaction, glad that he was as happy as she was about it. “You’re excited,” she wrapped her arms around his neck, her baby bump barely separating them as he kissed her. “I was sort of hoping we’d have a boy.” Her fingers brushed through the back of his hair, glad that he wasn’t mad she’d found out the gender by herself by accident. “Now we can go baby clothes shopping and set up a nursery. Once I’m feeling better.”
“Not this second, no, it can wait, but please, today?” Will didn’t want to wait too long to go. He couldn’t help but laugh as Emily stated the obvious. “Yes, of course I’m excited.” He kissed her a second time, needing an outlet to pour his emotions into. “I was sort of hoping we would too, but I would have been grateful either way. How did you find out?” William hadn’t even known how to go about that, or that Emily would have known. “Yes, yes we can do all of that. After we take you back to the infirmary, as well,” he narrowed his eyes at her playfully, pecking her lips. “And we’ll have to think of names, soon.”

“She wrote you a note?” Claire groaned, hating that she had put any of them in danger. Her brother was so angry, and most of it was because of their father, not because of Will or anyone else. “He told me to tell him anything I knew about you, he already knew about Emily. He didn’t know she’s pregnant…” And Claire hadn’t told him either, but she wasn’t sure how much William trusted her. “And he asked about Elizabeth. I think he wanted to go after her, and then something about stealing the throne from your brother.” Things didn’t work that way, but Anthony never had been the brightest. “The palace? We can’t!” She struggled against him, panicking slightly but giving in when she realized how much pain she was in. “My last name. I’m not supposed to be there.”
“Yeah, something like that.” William didn’t want to get into it now, as they needed to focus on getting out of the house. “What do you mean, he knew about her? What does he know?” At the least he wasn’t aware that Emily is pregnant, so with that, Will felt a bit better. “He’s always wanted to go after Elizabeth... that’s never changed.” Even admitting that made his stomach turn. “Well, the throne may not be my brothers to steal anymore...” The words had just sort of slipped from his mouth, not thinking about them much. Once they were out of that awful house, Will hurried them back toward the palace. “You’ve been staying there already, haven’t you? I’ll give them my word and tell them you mean no harm. We don’t have any other options at the moment.”

“I did go to the infirmary.” And he knew full well calling her darling would have gotten her to turn right around and do it again had he asked. “They said to just rest more and take it easy. It could be from the poison, but the baby is alright. I’d rather it affect me than the baby,” she nodded. She smiled as he figured out what she was trying to do, and watched his expression when the solution slowly turned blue. “We’re having a boy,” she said softly, keeping her eyes on him.
“Well I’ll go with you, again. Just to make sure, darling.” William wasn’t too convinced that this was all they said, if Emily did go, and he wanted to be sure. Even if it meant they were just going to tell him the same thing. When he saw the solution change color he almost couldn’t believe it. “We’re having a boy,” he repeated softly, smiling before turning to Emily. “We’re having a boy!” Carefully reaching forward, Will placed his hands on her cheeks and pulled her into a kiss.

“It’s just a cold or something. I was feeling more run down than normal and getting sick more often.” Really, she had been feeling pretty terrible for her to have to be seen for it. She rarely complained, but that was why she hadn’t told Will. “This is what we’re having. Here,” she handed him one of the droppers. “Put that liquid into that glass beaker there.”
“Or something... Darling, please go to the infirmary, just so that they can make sure everything is alright. If you’re sick it’s not just affecting you,” Will reminded her, gently. When she told him this is what they were having, he was a bit confused, though understood more when she told him to pour the strange liquid into a beaker. “I should have guessed you would get creative like this. It’s pretty exciting.” Smiling softly, Will held the dropper over the beaker, watching as the water slowly started to turn blue. “Oh my god...”

Claire winced when Will picked her up, but didn’t argue. She always did when Toulouse did, but obviously this was different…”Toulouse.” Her breath caught in her throat realizing he didn’t know where she was. Nodding slightly, she rested her head on his shoulder as he carried her up the stairs. “My brother,” she murmured. “Anthony. And this woman. He wanted to know things about you and Elizabeth and Bennett.” And she had said nothing, so that landed her in the state she was currently in, but at least she had held her ground. “A few days ago, I don’t know. You’d have to ask Toulouse–” He would know when she had left, and now it all seemed like a giant fog to her. “Where are we going? What if he comes back?”
“Well that makes sense... the note I got was from a woman. And from the sound of it, your brother isn’t here anymore.” She seemed angry, in the letter, and William couldn’t really blame her if Anthony and her had anything between them, but he by no means felt bad for her since she was involved in this. “What did he want to know?” The safety of his family was William’s number one priority, especially since Emily was now pregnant, and so was Elizabeth. “Toulouse...” He was fairly certain he had heard Claire mention the name before, though he wasn’t sure where things stood between him and her. “He won’t come back. We’re going back to the palace, to get you looked at.”

“Not that I love being pregnant, but it’s not so bad. I think I’ll change my tune when it gets to be time to give birth.” Ellie was certain she would hate that part, but she knew that she would have to get the baby out somehow. “I hope she does. I was thinking I would visit her soon and see how she is doing.” She figured there were some things that Will wouldn’t be able to fill her in on. When he said he did know the sex of the baby she lit up. “Oh, please tell me. I won’t tell anyone else.”
“Well, I hope that once your child is born you will see that they truly are like small miracles. And, for your sake, I hope your child is easy to handle,” William teased. “I think she would love that. Both of you could probably benefit from spending more time together in the next few months.” Seeing how excited Elizabeth was made him happy to tell her. “Alright. We’re having a boy.”

Ellie laughed, nodding her head. “I suppose you wouldn’t know what it’s like. It is quite draining, but it’s not as horrible as I thought it would be.” She was just glad that her brothers supported her. “I’m glad you’re back too. I have things I got for Emily-well, the baby really-but I haven’t gotten them together. Do you know the sex of the baby yet? She is further along than I am, so I figure she might know. Or you might know. Are you even going to find out what you’re having? Or is it going to be a surprise?”
“I’m glad to hear you say that.” William was fairly certain that Ellie had never even wanted children, and when she had first found out that she was pregnant it seemed like she hated the idea, or at least was displeased. It was nice to hear her sound somewhat excited. “That’s very kind of you, Elizabeth, I’m sure she and the baby will love them.” When she asked if they knew the sex of the baby yet, he got a bit excited. “Actually... we do know. Emily told me in a pretty exciting way. If I tell you, you can’t tell anyone else.”

Even though it wasn’t a huge deal, she still appreciated her brother thinking of her and her baby. “Thanks. I guess it’s just so strange to actually look pregnant now. It’s made it feel so real.” She always felt the need to touch her belly, which wasn’t something that she normally felt. “Oh wow… I’m glad that everything is okay, that must have been scary. But you two had a good honeymoon?”
“Well, yes, I suppose I can imagine how you must feel. Unfortunately I would not know physically or mentally what it is like to be pregnant, but I am sure it is likely draining. I applaud you,” he smiled, chuckling. “It was, yes... especially considering that I hadn’t even known Emily was pregnant at the time, but that is all in the past. Yes, it was very lovely, but I am glad to be back so that I can see you, and Bennett.”

“I am sort of sick, it’s fine,” Emily sniffled and waved her hand dismissively. “I’ll live. But I have something to show you, and then I’ll lie down.” She pulled him over to her desk, where she had a few beakers set up, one of them with clear liquid.
“Emily, if you’re sick you should tell me. What’s wrong? Is it normal sickness because you are pregnant, or is it something else?” Of course Will was worried, especially since Emily had just been poisoned a while ago and he had gone through a similar fate before. “Emily...” he narrowed his eyes a bit, though let her pull him over to the desk. “What is all of this?”
