Beast Boy blushed hard as she sat up slowly. Did she hear him???
He rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling awkwardly. “Uh, morning Terra.” He grinned slightly.

He watched her disappear into the bathroom and he slumped onto the bed with a groan. Brilliant Beast Boy! You embarrassed yourself in front of her!
Face still red, he lay back in the bed, staring up at the ceiling. She didn’t say anything about it...so maybe she didn’t hear? Aw, who was he kidding? He sighed heavily and sat up once more, changing to a cat and performing some stretches that wouldn’t be possible in his human form.
After a few minutes Terra came out and Beast Boy looked up as she spoke. He glanced at the empty cabinets of the kitchenette and changed back to human to respond. “Pretty sure we won’t have any pans or ingredients here.” He frowned. “Maybe we can find a cheap place to eat out at?” He suggested.

Beast Boy finally finished, getting dressed in his only pair of spare clothes and stepping from the bathroom. His green hair was soaking wet still, as he had not dried it well but he was glad to finally have the dirt and grime cleaned from his skin.
He glanced at the bed to see Terra still there. He quietly walked up to her, running his hand gently through her slightly tangled blond hair. Even with the dirt in her fingernails and her knotted hair she still looked like a goddess to him.
He smiled to himself. “You’re so pretty...” He whispered quietly, not knowing that she was awake.

Beast Boy woke up slowly, yawning and sitting up. He groggily rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around his surroundings. He was mildly confused for a moment before remembering the last few days’ events.
He looked over at Terra’s still sleeping form and smiled softly to himself. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. He just wanted to snuggle up with her and fall back asleep.
He blushed bright red at that thought and instead chose to stand up, stretching his tired muscles. He decided to take a quick shower to wake up, thinking she’d probably be awake by the time he was done.

Beast Boy sighed in relief as Terra disengaged from her glaring contest with the lady and followed him upstairs. He entered the room and looked around. It was small but homey. He smiled slightly at the memory of staying in a similar room with his mother.
He looked over at Terra as she plopped onto the bed. “Yeah, it’s not half bad.” He agreed and collapsed down on his own bed. It felt like heaven after the long journey they had been on. He slipped under the covers and snuggled his head into the pillow. So comfy. Not as comfy as his old bed in the tower, but to his exhausted body it was good enough.
It was barely a few moments before he was out like a light, snoring lightly.

Beast Boy looked up as Terra came out, the key in her hand. He smiled wide. “Terra! How did you get that?” He decided he didn’t care either way. He was just happy that he wouldn’t have to sleep outside. He followed her inside and looked up at the lady with a meek expression.
The lady glowered down at him, ignoring Terra’s threatening tone and fist. “The room is upstairs. Number 8. You’ll find it on your left.” She hissed, absolute hatred radiating off of her.
Beast Boy scowled at the lady, making his displeasure at her tone towards Terra known.
He grimaced before trying to pull Terra towards the staircase. He really didn’t want a fight to be started over him. He’d much rather just pass out in a nice comfy bed.

Beast Boy nodded slightly. He wasn’t sure why he apologized. Normally people got mad when he cried, so it was just out of habit. He watched with confusion as she headed back in the inn. He glanced around the open area, humming in thought to himself. Maybe he could find a good place for them to sleep for the night.

The lady, meanwhile, cowered in fear upon the realization that yet another mutant was in her inn! However, she did not feel like dying that day and instead nodded reluctantly with a glare. “Fine. One room for two. And that’s it. You can have it for the night and then I expect you to leave my Inn.” She slid the key to the room over with a little bit more force then was strictly necessary

Beast Boy sobbed into her chest, trying to stop but finding that he just couldn’t. He was past his breaking point and this was the result. He clutched her tightly, afraid that she would somehow leave him too or decide that she hated him like everyone else did.
He nodded weakly at her words, taking deep breathes to calm himself. Voice breaking, he spoke, “I’m sorry, Terra.” He apologized, pulling away from the embrace and wiping his tears away. He had to stop crying. He had to stop being weak in front of her!
He sniffled and nodded to her once more.

Beast Boy heard Terra yelling from inside before she stomped out in pursuit of him. He let out a tiny pitiful mew, trying to convey that he was fine. He was fine.
No he wasn’t.
Beast Boy let out a mournful yowl before leaping from the tree and landing in front of Terra. He changed back to human, looking up at her with watery eyes.
“I...just-” He choked on his words, turning away to hide his tears. Dammit. He was supposed to be stronger then this! He wasn’t supposed to cry in front of Terra...
His shoulders shook with emotion that he had been keeping hidden for way too long and he collapsed to the ground on his knees, his fingers digging into the dirt.
“I-i’m sorry...”

“You can have a room, but the green mutant isn’t welcomed here!” The woman glared daggers at Beast Boy to which he winced and took a small step back.
Beast Boy knew how this type of thing went down. Goodness knows it’s happened multiple times to him before. He shrugged and looked at Terra. “It’s fine. I can change to something small and sleep nearby outside.” He tried to assure her, although the hurt from the lady’s comment was evident in his eyes.
He turned to leave the inn, hoping that Terra would not follow. He could already feel the old memories bubbling to the surface and he desperately tried to shove them down.
Being bitten by that infected monkey. His mom’s accident. Being kicked out of the village after his mother died. Having nowhere else to go. The Doom Patrol taking him in when they found him starving and alone. No one would let him in any stores or hotels. He was a freak. A mutant. And no one liked him because of that.
He rushed out the door, biting down hard on his lip to stifle his emotions. He fled to the small tree nearby, changing swiftly into a cat and climbing up it to hide. He needed to be alone. Or so he told himself.

Beast Boy let out a little huff in acknowledgement, quickening his pace. They were almost to the town by now and they could see it in the distance.
It was a quaint little town, with nothing but an inn, bar, church and marketplace besides houses. Beast Boy looked forward to arriving at the inn. It would be nice to return to a place he had fond memories of being in with his mother.
After a few short moments, they arrived. It was almost pitch black out by now and the stone roads were lit by dim streetlights.
Beast Boy let Terra get off before he changed back, wincing slightly as he felt his back pop. He gave her a thumbs up to let him know he was alright before turning to face the inn. Honey B’s Inn. He smiled fondly. This was a place from before the tragedy had struck him and his mother. Before he was bitten and before she...He quickly stopped that thought.
Future. Think of the future. Not the past.
He held the door open for Terra before following after her inside. The woman at the front desk gave the pair a distasteful look, eyeing Beast Boy incredulously.
Odd.

“I really don’t mind! And I’m not tired at all!” He lied easily, smiling reassuringly at her.
Besides, she was most likely way more tired then he was, so having him take the brunt of the traveling for now was purely logical.
He nodded respectfully at her response, standing up and stretching. “Alright. Let’s go!” He changed to a horse, giving her a gentle nuzzle before kneeling down for her to hop on.
He began to head off in the direction of the town, enjoying the peaceful scenery and the company of Terra. It was a cool evening and he could smell rain on the air. He had always loved the rain. It brought back fond memories of his childhood.
He continued to trot along, making sure to go slow and not jostle the fair maiden on his back.

Beast Boy shook his head. “You’re not fine, Terra. You need rest. Maybe I could take us to the nearby town and you could ride on my back? I could change to a horse or something. It would allow you to rest for a while.” He offered gently. She’d been doing most of the work and he felt guilty.
He frowned at her question about his father. “He wasn’t exactly...alive then.” He grimaced. A sad look crossed his face as he momentarily remembered the incident that had taken his father’s life so long ago.

However he shrugged before she could say anything. “Don’t feel bad or apologize or anything. It’s just a thing that happened a long time ago. I’m past it all.” He turned to face her. “What about you? Where are your parents? -if you don’t mind my asking.” He asked, curious.

Beast Boy stared off into the distance, a frown on his lips. He was deep in thought, wondering what the other titans were doing at that moment. Cyborg was probably playing video games or working on the T-car. Robin would be going through files on Slade or some other baddie. Starfire would probably be making some kind of disgusting Tamaranean concoction in the kitchen and Raven would most likely be reading a book.
Or maybe they’d be out looking for him and Terra.
He bit his lip, trying to ignore his hunger. He hadn’t eaten as much these past three days. Mostly to save their money and to give whatever food he did have on him to Terra.
Speaking of her, he looked over with a frown as he felt the platform below him tremble. He nodded to her, standing up as she landed the rock onto the desert ground. He looked over her with concern as she took a large gulp of water.
“You need a break.” He murmured to himself. They’d been nonstop traveling with barely any breaks. Surely this was taking it’s toll on Terra. He cursed himself for noticing her exhaustion earlier.
“Are you alright?” He asked, sitting down next to her and taking a small sip of the water as well. Upon hearing her question he nodded. “The next town should be just a little while’s away.” He smiled softly, recalling a memory. “My mom and I stayed at the inn there once on our way to a conservation event.”

Terra had tried to ignore it. Well, it was two things actually: 1. Missing her friends and 2. her exhaustion. But could she be blamed? This was their 3rd day together and Slade must have found out that she wasn’t responding to him anymore and she wondered if he had sent some of his robots after her.
Or did the team get rid of him? Nonsense! Slade was tricky! He wasn’t going to be defeated so easily!
The platform under her began shaking and she let out a tired sigh. “I…need to land,” she muttered before she lowered the rock onto the hard earth. Terra had made sure they wouldn’t pass through the city so now they were passing a wasteland so nobody would spot them.
But she had already forgotten where they were and what time it was. There were only very few rays of sunshine visible and most of the sky was dark. She sat down on the ground, tired and thirsty so she took a small water bottle from her bag and took a large gulp before placing it back.
“Please tell me it’s not far anymore - to the next city I mean.”

He held her hand tightly in his own, taking a deep breath of the cool night’s air. It would be a wonderful trip. Filled with both hardships and happiness. He turned to look at her as she checked her pockets and smiled softly to himself. He would be on this amazing adventure with the most amazing girl he had ever met.
Upon hearing her question he nodded enthusiastically and gave her a thumbs up. He gave the tower in the distance one last look, nodding to himself in finality. This would be a new chapter in his life. And maybe after everything was said and done he could return to visit this old chapter. But until then he looked forward to what awaited them both.
He looked back at her and smiled, eyes shining. “Ready as i’ll ever be~”

And thus was one chapter of his life complete. The ending of his time with the titans marking the beginning of his life with Terra.
Beast Boy shut his eyes tight as he leapt from the tower only to fall right into Terra. He sighed in relief at not being dead and turned to her to apologize. “Sorry for the crash.” He grinned slightly. “I had to get out of there fast and-” He stopped talking as she suddenly spoke. She was trying to change his mind again?
He frowned and put a hand on her shoulder. “Terra. I’m coming with you. You can’t change my mind. I love you. Remember?” Did she not want him to come? Or was she just worried? He decided to worry about that later. They had bigger problems at the moment.
He turned to glance back at the tower. “We have to leave now. I think Raven is on to us.” He handed her the bags of things he had collected and spotted the crushed communicator on the beach. He nodded, sadness in his eyes. “Good idea. I left mine in my roo-my old room.”
He looked Terra in her eyes. “I want to come with you. But we can argue about that later. We seriously have to get out of dodge.”

Beast Boy nodded in understanding. “I get it. But Terra. You’re also my friend. And I care about you so much. And I don’t want to be away from you either. If I wanted to stay I would. But I don’t want to stay. I want to go with you.” He smiled, before turning to look behind them. “I don’t think she saw me-whoa!” He held tight to Terra as their rocky island began to hastily propel away. A blush formed on his cheeks upon realizing how close he was to her.
Upon reaching the coast he pulled away from her and cleared his throat. He pulled out something from his bag and held it up with a grin. “I made sure to grab a map from my room!” He exclaimed proudly before gazing down at it in thought. “I think we have to go,” He looked up to the east. “that way.” He decided.

He gave her a concerned look. “Won’t using your powers to get there be exhausting? Maybe we can just use them for a little bit of the time until we’re out of the main city.” He suggested, worried for her.

Beast Boy changed to a small fly and flew into the tower through his open window. Good thing he had been lazy earlier and had left it open. He changed back to human and began to shove some of his things in a small bag. He took a shoebox from under his bed and a picture frame from his bedside table, placing both in the bag before hoisting it over his shoulder. He did one last once over his room for anything of importance. He turned to leave for Terra’s room when he hesitated, pulling out his communicator and frowning. He couldn’t take it with him. Robin would track him. He set it gently on his bed before reluctantly leaving the room.
He gazed about the hallway with a sad frown. He would miss the tower. It had been his home for years and the teen titans had been his family... He would miss each and everyone of his friends...
But he reminded himself that he wasn’t leaving forever. Just until the threat of Slade hurting Terra was gone and they could return here together.
He carefully crept down the hallway to Terra’s room, freezing as he heard voices from downstairs. The others were home! And they were talking about him and Terra!
He quickly rushed into her room, spotting the laptop and picking it up. He turned to the drawer, pulling out some extra clothes for Terra and stuffing them in his bag before grabbing the small butterfly hairclip and gently sliding it into his utility belt. It clearly meant a lot to Terra and he would take care of it until he could give it back to her.
His eyes widened as he heard footsteps coming towards the room he was in. It sounded like Raven! He grabbed the last remaining things before looking at the laptop in his hands. He glanced to the window.
He smashed the laptop against the bed frame with a loud crash and let the pieces fall to the ground before fleeing the room. He couldn’t change into anything without risking the bags slung over his shoulders falling so he threw the window open and jumped, hoping Terra would catch him with one of her rock platforms.
He nodded as she spoke. She was right. After all, she was the expert of traveling around. And who knows? Maybe it would be a wonderful adventure!
Beast Boy hopped up onto the piece of asphalt with a smile. “Let’s go!” He looked to her with excitement. “I can be in and out with your things.” He chuckled slightly. “And breaking laptops are easy for me.” Cyborg could certainly attest to that. Beast Boy was absolute bad luck around electronics. His mere presence seemed to cause them to decide to stop working. He frowned slightly. Cyborg. He was his best friend besides Terra. Beast Boy would miss him…He shook his head to clear those thoughts. Cyborg, as well as the others, would understand. They would do the same if they were in his position.
He looked up as the tower appeared in the distance. He turned to Terra. “I’m also gonna go grab some of my things.” He had to get some sentimental belongings before they left.
“I’ll be back!”
