monsta x as pokemon gym leaders

shownu - fighting type pokemon or bust, man. his gym is literally a gym. when he’s not battling trainers, he is training...trainers, ya feel? he’s always helping out people in his town and girls fangirl over him through the windows of the building, to which he just smiles and waves and panics on the inside. his team would have pokemon such as hitmonchan and pancham.

wonho - normal type gym leader who is also a very proud eevee owner. he’s the ‘purist’ type and argues that if you feel the need to evolve an eevee, it’s because you’re not good at training them. his eevee is pretty tough, this is true, but it’s a bigger champion in pokemon contest than actual battle. his ‘gym’ is connected to his mother’s cafe, where he’s usually found. his team would include his prized eevee (duh) and other ‘mons such as lopunny.

minhyuk - fairy type pokemon!! because literal sunshine that is lee minhyuk!!! his gym is actually just a huge stage/tv set sort of thing as he works as an MC when off the clock. all of his pokemon get cute outfits like mini-tuxedos and tutus and they’re practically a dancing troupe? live streams everyday just to show off his beloved pokemon? he most likely has a clefairy and maybe a mr. mime.

kihyun - this pink haired babe would optimize the use of grass type pokemon, probably runs a medicine shop or some restaurant where he boasts the use of all natural ingredients. he does all his gym-related business in the same greenhouse he raises his plants in. gets mad when no one compliments his flowers that he’s put so much work into raising. uses pokemon such as roserade and cacturne.

hyungwon - psychic type gym leader. he’s the one who gets played up as being cold and scary but ??? he’s just sleepy. like the whole gym is decorated to look like a bedroom with oversized furniture, with him sleeping on a giant mattress at the end. notorious for using hypnosis on his opponents, and falling asleep during battle if it gets boring. his team would include pokemon such as meowstic and gardevoir.

jooheon - i see him specializing in fire type pokemon, because he spits literal fire. his gym battles would involve something of a ‘rap battle’ but since he’s not good at freestyle, he whips out his pokeballs. everyone is afraid of him until they battle him and realize he is a big doofus. he’d probably have pokemon like arcanine and baile-style oricorio.

i.m - e-e-electric! his gym is like walking into the world of tron or a giant game of pacman, and just before you reach the end of the maze leading up to him, you’ll see endless amounts of meme posters. he claims it’s to throw off incoming challengers, but you’ll realize that he’s just slowly running out of room to decorate without ruining the ~aesthetic~. he’d definitely have an elekid and possibly a helioptile, since i don’t see him having a lot of fully evolved pokemon.
