Every zodiac signs’ relationships with the rest can be put in one of three categories:
Type I – Easy relationships. These don’t require much effort on either side to work; people just “click” together. Arguments and misunderstandings are rare and are settled pretty fast. Because there’s a lack of challenge there’s not much space for self-improvement; people in such relationships often fall into a “lazy spell”.
Type II – Neutral relationships. Some compromises are required for these to work. It’s a generally positive environment offering the participants a chance to grow.
Type III – Difficult relationships. These are challenging and require significantly more effort to work. Miscommunication is a daily occurrence and arguments could be severe. However this type holds the most potential for self-development if both parties are willing to learn.
Type I relationships are based on the astrological aspects Trine (120 degrees from your birth sign, your “siblings by element”) and Sextile (60 degrees, the elemental siblings of your opposite sign); they are under the positive influence of Jupiter and Venus, regarded largely as “aspects of luck and love”. These operate on the principles of “opposites attract” and “like attracts like” without the conflict of authority being an issue. Type II relationships are based on the Semisextile (30 degrees, basically the neighbouring sign), Conjunction (0-10 degrees, or your sign) and Opposition (180 degrees, the opposite sign). These are under the rule of Mercury, the Sun and the Moon respectively; quite naturally if the Sun is involved there will be an issue of authority and a clashing of egos. The presence of perfect opposition brings up confusion, and the relative sameness in the outlook of your neighbours creates the illusion of similar characters. The “Who’s who?” lesson is the main objective here. Type III relationships are based on the Square (90 degrees, the two standing midway between you and your Opposition on each side) and the Quincunx (150 degrees, your Opposition’s neighbours). These are governed by Mars and Saturn and as you can probably guess, are quite heavy. There’s literally nothing in common between you and these other signs and they aren’t even your mirror-image like the Opposition, so this makes communication extra hard. The point of such relationships is to learn self-control and respect for people with different views on life. It’s really the most long-term positive situation, but it’s hard to notice at first.

There's nothing more annoying than when someone else is so easily influenced by someone else's views... and ideals.... what they should or shouldn't do...
