poster based on the album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You by Caroline Polachek, illustrated and designed by me

i started listening to this album a few weeks ago and ended up watching a lot of interviews of Caroline talking about the album and her creative process. it really inspired me to create again and i wanted to challenge myself to see how far i could take a simple sketch. i ended up with a portrait i was happy with, but i felt like i could push it even further. so, i kept drawing and designing and ended up with a complete poster based on the album’s lyrics and sound (or at least the way i interpreted it). i had to be patient with myself, which was hard, but i’m really happy that i continued working on it because i’m really proud of the final product.

Song Poster Series

In September 2022, I wanted to challenge myself to design a poster every day for 30 days. I created a prompt list to make posters based on my favorite songs. Some posters, I think, are more successful than others, however, this exercise really improved my design style and efficiency when creating. Here are some of my favorites:
