honestly, if bellarke happens i’m gonna be so pissed because literally. it’d go back on so much bellamy development & its only rlly wanted so clarke can be propped up by bellamy, who would be most likely demoted to the role of ‘lackey slash sex partner slash soldier’ and it’s so wrong. bellamy rights people.

You think people shitting on every single post by JRoth (or by other medias) and complaining is not about B/C would actually push him into making B/C canon ? I have the impression he wants to stand by his decision of not going there, but I wonder if he’s getting tired of those fans’ attitudes and will ultimately do it to just shut them up.

Have you ever trained a dog, run a classroom, loved a toddler, or anything else where you’re trying to modify the behavior of someone who’s not particularly interested in what you want? Rule 1: Don’t reward bad behavior. Giving them B/C while the show is still running isn’t going to make the screaming stop, it would just change the wording of it to “you’re doing it wrong!!”

We’ve all seen people snap and give in because sometimes the easiest way to shut up a toddler is to give them the lollipop, but we’re five years in now. In season two maybe he wasn’t used to the hate and might cave. In season three when he killed Lincoln and Lexa there was talk of both an LGBT viewer and POC viewer exodus. Giving the B/C shippers their candy might have been a business decision. At this point it’s clear the show works without that romantic pairing and he’s used to the whining. The first stab of the tattoo needle hurts but ten minutes in it’s just an unpleasant reality.

I could see him making a business decision to make B/C canon at the VERY end as a way to launch a spin off or hope to increase residual money by selling the show as the epic story of their love. I expect him to give just enough as we move forward to let B/C shippers think he might pay out one day.

I would be shocked if he devoted screen time to what shippers want to see: Bellamy vocalizing that while he cares for Echo he truly loves Clarke, pining for half a season, and then an epic declaration of his true feelings and a long sex scene followed by a season of her as his princess and him as her devoted flunky who only pauses in his slaying of her enemies to go down on her.

This show has survived multiple apocalypses, but that would be truly jumping the shark.
