Charles still the only person on the grid that is able to defend against Max in wet conditions and some people are up in comment sections making fun of his wet weather driving. Are you not embarrassed?

Charles did so good this race i am so extremely proud but let's just talk about one thing that astonished me:

Despite everything that happened last race, despite every negative comment about his wet weather driving, despite all the criticism, Charles was still so confident going into today knowing it will rain.

Not only was he confident, he still went with the low downforce wing. He knew they would have more trouble in the rain with that wing but he STILL went for it. Knowing the risks. He was still confident in himself that he could make it work with that wing even if it rains.

This tells me 2 things

1. Charles knew how important starting position was

2. He was confident that this new upgraded car would give him more confidence in the wet. Which means his setup was not as extreme, since he said the main problem in Silverstone was that his extreme setups made it very difficult to control the car in the rain. Him having enough confidence to once again go with a non rain setup means the feeling in the car is improved with the new upgrade enough to make him control it better which is VERY good news. I cant tell you how happy all these comments are making me. This is amazing news. The more Charles can drive the car without overdoing the setup the better the results.

So all in all, im so proud of his driving and his resilience and his confidence.

Okay, after this race weekend I think it's undeniable. Something is going on within McLaren specifically to sabotage Lando and I no longer feel tin foil hat saying it. Has Lando had one singular race weekend without something wrong with his car at some point? Seriously, whether the issue is in qualifying or the race, I don't think he's had a normal car yet. Meanwhile his teammate hasn't had a single one. (that I know of or that I found when researching but if I'm wrong correct me) Lando has now had slow pit stops due to his front left tire 3 weekends IN A ROW, and today's was egregiously bad. It wasn't a jammed tire gun or stuck bolt it was the pit crew member genuinely just not putting it on right. Again I can't recall a costly pit stop affecting Oscar's races this season. These things plus the fact that the car was literally built to better suit Oscar than Lando makes me scoff at anyone who suggests even for a second that McLaren prioritizes Lando. Hell I'm pretty sure that if Silverstone wasn't Lando's home race McLaren would have listened to Oscar and told Lando to swap places. I keep going back to Hungary last year and how the team gaslit and bullied Lando into literally handing a win he had in the bag to his teammate who couldn't keep up with him. They told him he would need the team. I'm pretty sure he hasn't had it for a second since Oscar joined. I have so many thoughts about all this, about how much the car improved after Oscar joined, and whether there are any implications there, seeing as McLaren should have been in the hole a bit having to buy Ricciardo out. Also how McLaren are and have been paying Oscar relatively the same, if not MORE, than Lando, who has been with the team through thick and thin. Oscar's been getting payed like this since before he was ahead of Lando in the standings. He was signed to a contract near identical to Lando's when Lando was wiping the floor with him. Something isn't right within McLaren and I don't understand why more people can't see this.

everyone needs to stop with this worse car debate. max was much slower on the straights and hence couldn’t catch up there. charles had awful traction in the corners and was unable to pull away. both are incredibly talented drivers with cars that do not do justice to their skills. i say we give them the McLarens, clear the scoreboard and let them duel it out.

crazy how Charles was watching Max's lap times the whole race while Max noticed Charles made a mistake that costed him 1.5 secs. they're so insane while racing each other

The smiles they share when talking about each other. My God! If they got that excited over a little battle lasting a couple of laps on the track, I can't imagine if they were fighting for the world championship, they'd be kissing furiously as they got out of the car at every race.
