This is how I am presenting my book within its box.
The box has a pale blue coloured lid and the box itself is black. I am presenting the book with 5 postcards from images from the project. Some images are in the book but some didn't make the cut for the book itself.
I decided not to stamp the title of the project onto the cover as I didn’t want to mess the lid up and realistically I would much rather emoss the cover have have stamped letters. Sadly I do not have access to embossing so I am having to leave it titleless on the box.
The postcards cost £2.78 for 5 so realistically at my exhibition i could sell these alongside showing my print and my book, this would gain a small profit if I were to sell each postcard for £1.50 or 5 for £5.
I am really happy with this presentation.

Ordering my final print from The Print Space for my show in February!
It won’t arrive in time for my deadline so won’t be able to photograph it but it 100% will arrive on time for my end of MA show. I feel that my hand mounted print represents my idea well as I’ve ordered exactly the same print from the print space it will just be mounted by a professional so will be significantly better. I’ve chosen foamex as it is stronger than foam core but cheaper than diabond 3mm
I wasn’t planning on submitting this mounted print as I didnt want it to get damaged during the marking and it being stored at the university. So I will be submitting my test mount/print for the deadline.

Where to start on this process.
It started off bad, my worst nightmare and what i had feared doing this idea. I took too much of the back off the tape so the print stuck before i had it aligned so it went on wonky. I then tried to get it off which i managed to in the end but this was detrimental to one end of my print as seen in the photos. This very evident in certain light but when looking directly on it looks okay, gives me a general idea of what this print will look like. I definitely learnt a lot doing this and 2 out of the 3 images on the triptych are good and I am quite proud of doing this as it have learnt a lot of skills doing this idea. I learnt from my mistakes definitely!
This isn’t my final exhibition piece but it does show a general idea of what i would show. I do now know that this is definitely the size and style that I want. So I will be ordering this print again from the print space with it being mounted for my end of MA show in February which I feared would get damaged if submitted for the hand in.

Cutting the wood and getting the tape down.
I triple checked the measurements - 37.8cm by 180.2cm so the knew the board was measured to the best that i could measure. It may be slightly out because it was hard to cut.

Practise with new tape - this worked really well and I am really happy with it! The tape only cost £2.80 for 33m so way cheaper. I will be using this tape on my print.

Practising stamping for my box
I definitely need to clean up the edges on the stamp before i put it onto the box as I don't want the edges of the stamp to be visible.
I also left way too much of a gap between each word and I need to make sure that the text is straight. I’ve got a test box that I am going to use first and if that doesn't go well I am going to leave the box without a title as I’d rather have no title than a really messy looking one.

Practising mounting prints using my double sided tape method. The last image represents how the tape it laid out underneath the print.
I was so happy with how this test print turned out! it looked relatively professional and for a first attempt i have been very reassured that this method will work on my print.
Each roll of tape is only 2.5 metres long so to be able to over my large print I recon i will need 8 rolls which would cost me £35. Which is a lot of money. Because of this I am going to try a cheaper tape to see if the results are the same/ similar. If not I will buy more of the expensive tape.

This video and blog was really helpful to watch - and i actually feel like i can mount my own print now (with help from someone holding it while i roller)
I really hope my double sided tape works - i am going to practise today.
I have bought an ink roller to use so again I hope that works too.

I’m going to mount my print onto my plywood using this tape! I am pretty sure it will work considering the reviews. If not I will nail the print to the wood.

All of these techniques look quite confusing and not something I feel confident with especially within the time that I have. I feel that following my style of nailing my art into its location would work better - perhaps I could look into getting a thin piece of plywood and nail the print onto that with some added dry mount adhesive or double sided tape. This would also prevent the print from bowing as severely as it is quite long.

Making the prints in photoshop to go into the box - I have gone with a postcard size as my usual size of 10x8 is too big for the a5 box.

I have been following JW Publications for a while and I feel that this represents my idea well and how I want to present my book and prints in the box.

I have enquired with a local printing company about printing onto 150-300 gsm uncoated paper. I want to print off a couple of prints to go into the box with my book. I want to have a white border around them so they they have a postcard type vibe.
