About Geotech
A Victorian company, Geotech Group was established in 1972. Forty-five years later, it is one of Australia’s most successful engineering construction companies. With the expertise to complete technically complex projects, Geotech works across a broad range of fields with success. These include ground engineering, rail infrastructure, civil infrastructure and industrial construction projects.
The Geotech Group is made up of three companies, each with its own specialisation. These three companies, wholly owned subsidiaries of Geotech Holdings Pty Ltd are Geotech Pty Ltd (trading as Geotechnical Engineering), Coleman Rail Pty Ltd and John Beever (Aust) Pty Ltd. The Melbourne head office holds a workshop facility that is extensive enough to allow for the maintenance and development of the specialised equipment. With a name synonymous with efficiency and expertise, Geotech Group has a proud record of delivering cost-effective solutions. About Me
Bede Noonan started as Financial Controller with Geotech Group in 1991. Quickly showing an ability that would benefit the Group, Bede moved into the area of Contract & Business Management. Then, in 2000, when Geotech’s original owners made the decision to sell, Bede was appointed Executive Director and Shareholder. Bede has the knowledge and skill to work across all interests of the Geotech Groups operations. His chief focus, however, has been fixed on Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Financial & Systems Management. This focus is motivated by Bede’s passion for innovation and Research & Development.
As CEO, Bede oversaw an unprecedented period of growth for Geotech Group. The acquisition of Coleman Rail in 2002 was one highlight of this growth. Likewise, acquiring engineering business, John Beever Australia in 2007, strengthened Geotech Group’s market position and was a further indicator of success. Geotech Group now has its head office is in Melbourne and established offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. It employs over 500 people across Australia.
Bede’s tertiary qualifications are in the areas of economics and accounting and he inherently understands the financial aspects of projects and the business as a whole. Having led many successful major infrastructure projects as Project, Bede is the perfect candidate to lead ACCIONA Geotech. Under his guidance and with his capability, ACCIONA Geotech is well placed to become an industry leader in Australia & New Zealand construction.
Bede is committed to social responsibility and brings this to all his business activity. This is demonstrated in his continuing support of non-profit organisations, sporting clubs and various charities through regular donations from profits. This commitment to social responsibility is also seen in the close work with Swinburne University and their Professional Placements Program. Placing more undergraduates than any other like organisations, these placements come not just from engineering but a wide range of disciplines. This diversity underlies the value of the partnership and is key in its success.
As a recognised industry leader, Bede has held roles as a Director of Master Builders Association of Victoria and the Piling and Foundation Specialist Federation of Australia.
