About the spear you made for your San cosplay. Does a wooden head make it less likely to pass weapon check? I would want to do wood myself for the weight and look but I'm worried that it might make it to "dangerous".

I was able to go into the convention hall with mine, even when it was pretty crowded. I went to London MCM Expo and tbh no one  actually really payed any attention to it. I cant see why it wouldn't be let in because if you round it all off and smooth it all down then it wouldn't really hurt anyone, unless you accidentally dropped it and it hit someone in the head lol.  Also weight wise mine actually hardly weighs anything. Its the metal pole I used that makes up most of the weight but all in all its actually pretty light. 

A lot of people make theirs out of clay which I don't think is a great idea because personally I think that would weigh more. Plus wood looks more professional as well in my opinion.
