this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby

I cheated on some spelling tests in the early years of schooling, like around ages 7 to 9.

We had these skinny little exercise books we used for spelling practice, and things were always regimented enough that the words on the test would be ones that you practiced recently.

We also had desks that had plastic drawers under them where you'd store said exercise books and stationery when you weren't using them.

But if you were to, say, keep your practice book open to the right page, and keep the drawer slightly ajar so some light got into it, and sat back from your desk a little more than usual, you could usually read the text in the practice book.

I cheated on a bunch of spelling tests like that, though of course I made sure to get a couple wrong each time to avoid arousing suspicion.

Ironically I think doing this actually made me better at spelling and I stopped needing to do it. I'm pretty good at remembering spellings these days. Yay for skills made redundant by the age of computing.

Imagine a robot having a little beep that goes off periodically and they aren't sure how to turn it off, like when certain watches beep every hour- Hey speaking of watches, why do humans wear them? I understand they don't have internal clocks like some of us, or have the time on their interface but... They all have phones nowadays that tell them the time! Are they merely decorative pieces? Hmm.... Oh! sorry for that tangent hehe! Anyways where was I... *Beep* Oh yes! Does anyone know how to turn that off? =v=;
