very strange detail in "voices of the void": the game is made in something that isnt valve's source engine, but has been built to emulate it (most notable in how it uses half life 2 SFX). to maintain this illusion, the ATV in the game moves exactly like the apeshit insane and terrible hl2 vehicles. its a funny touch and artistic choice

shelley's favorite toy is a piece of twine we tied to a stick that we wiggle around. it makes her go apeshit and it wasnt until recently that we stopped hiding string from her bc she would develop "string madness" and demand to play forever with no end. now she seems to understand that string is a two-way street that requires our participation as well.

This is Maggie's worm collection

She loves her worms more than any other toy. She plays with them loads and carries them around the house

At night the worms have to go in a box so that she doesn't wake me up playing with them. So every evening before bed I gather up the worms, put them in their box and have Maggie say goodnight to them.
