Summary:

Yang's not rich, but she's fun, that's why she gets invited to these parties. Apparently if the rich kids are trashed or high enough they don't care if you barely have money as long as you know how to have a good time.

So when Sun invited her to yet another party, celebrating his parents being anywhere but there, she hadn't expected to see Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna. These types of parties weren't exactly the heiress' scene, Blake was more understandable, she was actually friends with Sun. Her best assumption would be that Blake dragged Weiss along.

Those two were known to be quite the controversial couple, most people wondered if it was Weiss trying to spite her dad. A Schnee dating a faunus, it was headline worthy and the two looked fucking smug in every single picture. Yang had always been good at picking out emotions though, they had something. Something that none of these stuck up rich assholes could see.

It was interesting.

Bees Schnees Week Day Seven: Free Day

Hidden away on Patch, Yang, Weiss, and Blake, take stock of their situation. Ruby signs up for fighting lessons.

“Baby,” Yang says, strangled, and Blake’s ears flick uncertainly.

“What are you–”

“Baby!” Weiss echoes, insistent and strained, and Blake freezes in place, because Yang doesn’t call her baby often but Weiss certainly does it precisely never.  She uproots her boots from the floor and shoves up between the two of them, and nearly trips over her own feet because there’s a baby in a stroller sitting in the middle of the wrecked building.

started writing this for trope day for bees schnees week 2021 and didn’t write it properly until bees schnees week 2022 and still managed to be late on that 🤷‍♀️

Yang tries to teach Weiss hand to hand, only for Blake to interrupt with a challenge of her own.

Weiss spent her childhood training with a sword and her adolescence with every weapon the Atleasian military had to offer, but one constant among them all was the fact that, much to her chagrin, Weiss was never destined to make it up to even average height and was never going to make it past strong for your size.  There’s never been a time in her life when Weiss has had to temper her strength, or watch how hard she pulls on a door.

Now, though.  Now, as her days take a shape in this new life she’s living, one where she can rip an Atlesian paladin to pieces with her bare hands and punch through concrete with barely a blink, she has to learn.

She starts with barbells, and with Yang.

 If Yang weren’t on a horse right now– Qrow’s horse, and Qrow’s armor, and Qrow’s lance and shield and sword, snuck out from under him while he drowned himself in cheap wine at their parents’ house– she would punch him.  Instead she settles for kicking uselessly out at him. She misses, because of course she does, because she doesn’t know how to do anything in armor, because she’s barely a squire, much less a knight, and is rewarded with the unfamiliar spurs jabbing into the horse’s side on the backswing and then she’s nearly flung off over the horse’s back end when it rears up and sets off at a canter out of the stable.

 There’s no way that Jaune– stupid, annoying, absurdly talented forger Jaune with his capabilities and his debts and his stupid smiling face– hears her cursing his entire pathetic bloodline as the horse carries her out of the stable, but she likes to think he does anyways.
