I don’t get why people think Mike was a bad friend for not comforting Will in the van. If Mike had asked Will what was wrong, Will obviously wouldn’t have been able to explain so it would’ve made it worse. What’s Will supposed to say? “Oh El’s love for you is just so beautiful.” NO? That’d be so awkward. I feel like Mike was a better friend for respecting Will’s wish to cry in peace. Will was trying to hold back those tears so Mike wouldn’t ask why he’s upset and I think Mike picked up on that and chose to let Will cry in private since that’s clearly what he wanted.

it’s okay to admit lumax isn’t a perfect couple. that’s the thing about them, they don’t try to be. they don’t bullshit each other. they’re not trying to be fake with each other. their break was good for each other because max especially wasn’t in the right place mentally. their story is actually written beautifully because of how honest and genuine it is. they’re teenagers. they shouldn’t have to ruin themselves just because they’re in love, they wouldn’t let themselves that do one another. even when lucas basically tells her he still loves her, he doesn’t pressure her in any way, he just lets her know he’s there. but the love is there, the love has always been there. even when they weren’t as serious in season three, that’s okay! they shouldn’t have to take on the responsibilities of an adult. they shouldn’t be expected to act as such either. they’re in high school and have their own trauma to deal with. they have stuff to work through, some on their own and some together. the thing about them is that they just won’t stop loving each other through it all. they fuck up sometimes. it’s okay to acknowledge that. i think they would—they have—too.

it's so mean that they took away being a dog owner from will byers so early in the show i don't think i have ever seen a boy who could benefit from it more. he comes home after a bad day of feeling forgotten and being ignored and the second he's at the door his dog runs up to him asking for pets and kisses and will drops to his knees in the hallway not even taking off his backpack and hugs him and cries
