Things two hungarian poets from the 1840s said to each other in their letters that make me crazy:
If my soul touches you and it happens to burn you I'm not to blame... it was you who lit it on fire
I swear to you on cottage cheese and tobacco
If the people rule in poetry, so will they rule in politics and that's the goal of the century! To hell with the aristocracy!
My dear buddy,
My soul, my bastard,
My golden mouthed saintly friend,
My rowdy brother,
My lovable dummy,
If you want to see a dead Pegasus, look no further than me
I am trying to learn to smile nicely ( he did not succeed)
My dear friend, you better side of my soul
I will never forgive you for NOT writing the address on the envelope yourself. A woman's handwriting... and a black seal... dear god, the devil took him! he worked himself to death writing poems, he died! ... and then i opened your letter... Never do this again. Only use black seal vax on your death, and even then, still write the address yourself!
I'm reading (your work) for the sixth time. It's really a horrible thing. I'll need to read it again to understand just how awful it is!
Sincerely, your friend whose balls are itching
It's really good that your sore throat is gone, I can finally strangle you
Leave the dedication! Veselényi is a great man but he's still a Lord, and a poet should never dedicate ANYTHING to a Lord
I'm hugging you a 1000000000000 times!

You saw a dragon. It flew by your city. It landed for a momment. It was there.
It was massive. The pictures never really show their size. You have to see one up close to realize how large it is, or perhaps how small you are. And it was beautiful. It's eyes shown like sunsets within sunrises. Its scales reflected the world in so many colors like shining bismuth. It's wings burnt with a thousand fires as the most radiant light in the world spewed from behind teeth longer then your arm.
And everybody watched. And everyone loved it. And the children came to play at its feet if they could. Tourist stop and point at it, and residents on their morning walks stand still. Everyone takes pictures. Everyone looks for as long as they can, because if they don't they might never see a dragon again. They inspect every part of it, for the few minutes it's here, knowing it could leave at any time. Knowing they can't miss their chance to witness such eldritch beauty. Some wonder if it's worth it to take a picture, or to spend the time fetching their freinds, knowing they soon might miss it, and they want to keep looking. They want to remember that the world is a wonderful place.
But not everyone gets a chance to see. Some people are working, and they're told to keep working, by bosses that will watch the dragon from their office. They'll only get the brief glances they're allowed to sneak. Most children are in school, and can't be allowed to look at something distracting outside the window, so their joy at hearing there's a dragon will be met with sorrow. Some people are working at stores, and have to take customers' requests while narrowly trying to get a look out of the front window. Some people are driving, and have to keep their eyes on the road, because they're commuting to jobs they don't even want, and driving is the fastest way. Some people can only hope for a glance, because humanity has decided that there's more important things then witnessing the beauty, at least for some people.
And the world will go on. It's not the end of the world for some people to miss a dragon, they are still alive and well fed enough to do their jobs. It just makes their life a little worse, a long with a thousand other to miss, along with a thousand other things you never did because you were busy making money for someone else. The dragon goes with everything else we miss. With all the time with family and freinds people missed because of work. With all the places people have moved for work or school that they never wanted to be. With all the childhood homes that lay locked and empty or filled with strangers for the sake of a landlord. With all the ways that people would dress or look if their job or family didn't say otherwise. With all the dreams that have become only fantasy.
The dragon is just another part of the real world that's been blocked out by the fantasies of the powerful.

reading the wiki for the american psycho movie every single thing it’s saying about christian bale has me in tears …….. he literally wanted the role so bad he got that buff in two weeks, rejected every other offer for 9 months while the producers tried to get dicaprio to be patrick bateman bc bale knew dicaprio would chicken out, went to dinner with the director and the guy who wrote the novel IN CHARACTER apparently scaring the shit out of the novelist, took the role for $50k, and then made all his costars think he was a giant freak bc he never fucking broke character, and APARENTLY LITERALLY HAS CONTROL OVER HIS SWEAT GLANDS AND USED THIS IN THE BUSINESS CARD SCENE

I think young kids should be taught basic worldbuilding skills.
Like they already wanna use their imaginations anyway, so this is a great time to teach them about things like developing ideas, keeping notes, and thinking about why the stuff they create exists in the context of their imaginary worlds and how it interacts with each other.
This is a good way to introduce them to good research practices and asking critical questions, and it also teaches them how to make stuff for themselves so they don't grow up to feel dependent on a famous author who turns out to be a raging bigot or violent abuser.

I think people have truly lost any ability to be patient with storytelling.
‘I don’t understand this’ They’ll explain it if you wait.
‘I don’t like how this episode left things hanging’ There’s a continuation next week.
‘This character is flat’ Wait for them to be fleshed out.
So many of the complaints I see about shows lately are people being confused by things THAT THE SHOW WANTS YOU TO BE CONFUSED BY THATS THE FUN OF MYSTERY AND FORESHADOWING YOU ABSOLUTE GOBLINS THE MAIN CHARACTER IS ALSO CONFUSED AND THEYRE GONNA DO A BIG REVEAL AND EXPLANATION LATER IF YOU WOULD JUST FUCKING WAIT
