later in the night.
“S.O.S” we text our closest neighbor in the house. He had been out with friends but we required his immediate attention. Once told the news he couldn't help but become overjoyed to a point that brought the energy up in our room so we would snap out of shock and into happiness for ourselves. excitement, assurance, joy, all other forms of emotions filled our hearts in the same moment. after accepting the future, now we would sit back and observe the reactions of our loved ones and laugh together as they attempt to foresee the turns in our new life.
but only we will know how the rest of the story goes. because only we control how the rest of this journey unfolds.

day 1.
it started with flowers.
on this sunny spring morning, i woke up rather emotional. everything felt peculiar and for no apparent reason the boy bought me flowers. ive been more tired than normal and couldn't put my finger on the reason?
my day went by just dandy, then when i arrived home from work my other half was tormented by anxiety then finally came out with it.... “your pregnant” he stated. after pondering for a moment i remembered the test i had stored away in case of emergency. i took it.
the two blue lines appeared almost immediately. circling each others paces while reassuring ourselves we’d be “fine” . i called my confidant, my sister of course, and i came right out with it like it had been done to me moments before. collectively she instructed us to purchase another more precise and modern test. one that was digital.
“pregnant” were the clearly transcribed letters that appeared on the test. so we took the second... or third if you count the first and less clear reading.
