Hi! We are Christy and Edith, backyard gardeners from Colorado. Lately, we have noticed more and more people picking our brains for tips and trouble-shooting about gardening. We think it’s kinda funny, because we’re not experts. We just learned a lot about gardening from the mistakes we made along the way. You always hear about Victory gardens – but what about all the garden failures? Gardening is about learning, experimenting and rolling with the punches. Every week we share our most epic garden failures and our biggest garden lessons. Most gardens are the result of trial and error. To reduce your chance of failure, join us in our gardens. And learn why you should plant your tulips butt side down. Winner of Best New Podcast at 2020 Colorado Podcast Awards!

Tips for baby witches, lazy witches, tired witches, or any witch really:
Enchant your morning cup of tea/coffee*
Match the colours of your makeup to your intentions for the day
Visualise the water washing away all the negativity when you shower
Enchant your nail polish (bonus: match the colour to the intention, black for protection, red for love, green for prosperity, etc)
Say your affirmations (for clear skin, fading scars, reducing dullness, etc) when doing your skincare
Charge your perfume with the energy you wish to attract
When tying your shoes, visualise them symbolically protecting you from tripping and “falling” into places and situations that disturb your peace
Use music to your advantage, listen to songs that match your intentions, or alternatively, use music as a tool for divination
Some witches veil to keep their energy from draining and to protect them from others’ emotions, but a beanie works too
If you wear glasses, use them as a tool so that they help you “see clearly”
Put your moisturiser on in the shape of a sigil before massaging it in
Child’s pose is always there for you, use it when you need it (alleviates stress and anxiety, helps clear the mind, releases tension in the back, helps to steady breathing, is overall great for grounding, etc)
Visualise the A+ (on your report card/on the paper after it’s been graded/etc) right before beginning to solve your test/exam, it also helps if you can draw a sigil somewhere on the paper, or trace it on the paper with your finger
When shaving, visualise any energy buildup being shaved off as well
If you play the guitar, draw a sigil on your plectrum/pick for an added boost (this works with other instruments too)
Do not litter out of respect for nature and its spirits
Feel free to add more things onto the list
When you’re just starting out, or even when you’re just too drained to practice your craft like you used to, it can feel like there isn’t enough magic in your life. This is your daily reminder that a lot of the time, the only difference between routine and magick is intent.
*I have been informed that the first link is now private. I will not be changing it, but here is my go-to method for enchanting tea. Stir clockwise to manifest/invite, and counterclockwise to banish/repel. Tap the spoon (or whatever it is that you’re using) thrice against the rim of the cup to seal in the intention.

Manifestation Ritual
Tools/Needs
stainless steel bowl
marker and/or pen/pencil
paper
incense/candle
bay leaves
lighter/match
salt
herbs (will vary according to manifestation)
crystals (will vary according to manifestation)
fire-safe area outside
bottle with seal of some sort or wishbox
Process
Pre-Ritual
Meditate. Clear your mind. Do something to bring you at peace and makes you feel connected to the divine. *Do this before each “section” of the ritual (before and after).
Take your pen/pencil and paper, write your manifestation, and fold it. Fold however you want and however much you want.
Use candle/incense to amplify intention and recite intention mantra as you amplify.
Once amplified, sit in salt for 12-24 hours to cleanse of stagnant energy.
Ritual
Once manifestation is done with cleansing, take it out and take the following to your fire-safe spot outside: note, marker, bay leaf, herbs, crystals, bowl, lighter, and salt.
Make a pentagram with salt. Start with the star, then go clockwise to complete circle.
Sit your bowl in the middle and set crystals on the rim of the salt pentagram.
Put herbs into bowl. Draw sigil/symbol or word specific to manifestation on the bay leaf and put it in the bowl.
Rip note in 1/2. One 1/2 goes into either the bottle or the wishbox. If bottle instead of wishbox, include whatever ingredients you put into the bowl into the bottle. Make sure to cleanse the bottle first. Put note in and shut the bottle. Do not seal in any way that may make it impossible to reopen.
Hold other 1/2 over the bowl. Start reciting intention prayer. Recite manifestation specific prayer, or the manifestation itself.
As you’re reciting, light the paper on fire and place/drop it into the bowl. Sit until fire is completely out and all is burnt.
After Receiving Manifestation
Repeat step 3 from ritual process, except take the bottle with you and take crystals and herbs of thanks/gratitude with you.
Repeat steps 5-9, except:
Draw sigil of gratitude on the bay leaf.
Empty contents of bottle into the bowl.
Recite a prayer of gratitude rather than the intention or manifestation mantra.
Light the bay leaf on fire and drop into bowl.
Prayer of Gratitude
Intention Mantra

How can you get stronger as a witch I wanna be able to cast powerful spells and become a really good diviner but idk how to become better at those things I do alright but I’d like to get as strong as I can so I can do as much as I can
Oooo, here's where I piss off a whole bunch of people....
There is no point to trying to become "stronger" or "more powerful" as a witch.
Witches don't have discernible power levels. It's not like we get XP or have some kind of measuring stick where we can tell who's got the biggest magic reservoir. You don't get a power boost for being born into a pagan family or having some magical mythical bloodline (emphasis on MYTHICAL) or being clair-whatever. The most you can get is a head start on your studying or a more rapid uptake on some concepts than witches who are starting from scratch or can't practice openly. But that's it.
The only way you get "levels" as a witch is if you're part of an initiatory tradition. And even then, it's less about power and more about education, learning the various mysteries, and group politics.
It's a Golden Apple fallacy - the minute that the title of Most Powerful Witch gets bandied about, it turns into a fight that nobody is going to win.
HOWEVER.
Knowledge is still power and it's really the only power worth having.
The best thing you can do in order to progress with your craft is study and practice. Learn everything you can. Try things, even if you fail. Learn from that too. Study mundane subjects that give context to your magical learning. Become a critical thinker. Practice the skills you want to use in your craft.
If you want to become a good diviner, practice your divination. Pick a method, study up on it, and try it out. If it works for you, keep going. If not, try another one. Take notes along the way, it helps to be able to look back to see what worked and what didn't.
As for casting powerful spells, it's less about how much raw power you can throw at a problem and more about how creative you can be when attempting to solve it. It's the difference between trying to batter down a wall and stepping back to see how else you can get past it. Studying various techniques and learning about the spell mechanics and how magic works will get you part of the way there. The rest is practice. Practice until it feels easy. Then add another layer, or try something that seems hard.
And it will take TIME. No one gets it all completely right right away and no one understands every single permutation or will be able to do everything they set out to do. The learning is lifelong. There is no point where you can just stop and say, "Welp. I'm an expert now, no need to learn anything else." You will always be learning and growing, and you will have to revise past knowledge to accommodate new information. That is normal and that is okay. Be patient and don't be too hard on yourself.
Sorry if this wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but I find it better to be honest than to promise things that can't be had. Hope it helps, in any case!

How to Set Intentions
Always in witchcraft there is going to be a spell or ritual that asks you to set your intentions in order to reach the goal desired. We always hear “set your intentions”, but we never get to hear how to set your intentions. Here, I’m going to give you a step by step guide on how to set your intentions for rituals, spells and anything else that requires your focus.
1. Write down your primary ideas for what you want your intention to be about
Example: I want to be rich, I want to be able to buy things without worry of money, I want to have more tangible assets
2. Analyze your ideas for common themes. What is the main goal you are trying to reach?
Example: Money, Abundance, Wealth
3. Use the themes found to identify your intention. Always be as precise as possible.
Example: I will have an abundance of money, I will have excess cash to live comfortably
4. Write your intention on a specific piece of paper with as few words as possible, but be very specific.
These simple steps will allow you to understand how to set your intentions in an exact manner which will strengthen any spell or ritual you plan on doing. I hope this helped. Thank you for reading!

i’m literally just just just looking into witchcraft but i have no idea where to begin bc there’s so much info and different branches out there, is there anything you recommend to very beginners???
Unfortunately, witchcraft has become a complicated subject due to an extensive amount of arbitrary labels and information. I would simply recommend the following
Know at least 1 protection ritual, chant and method
Know at least 1 banishing ritual, chant and method (same with cleansing)
Know the difference between invocation and evocation
Know the powers of the four elements (as general, a good start for witches)
Develop a basic list of charms, exercises and methods to use, test, cast that which doesn't work out or refine it so that it does.
When you have sorted the wheat from the chaff and have a good amount of experience in the basics (protection, cleansing, banishing, invocation of forces and a basic ability to manipulate the subtle forces), you can begin to spread outwards into what you would consider your specialization.
If you want to work primarily with divination, you'd work towards that and study that. Herbs, you'd move there and so on and so forth..
So let this be a basic format
Protection
Protection of a space
Protection of a person
Enchanting an item for protection
Warding basics
Protection chants
Protection prayers
Amulets
Greater Protective Ritual
Lesser Protective Ritual
Banishing and Cleansing
Cleansing a space
Cleansing a person
Cleansing an item
Methods of cleansing
Cleansing chants
Larger Cleansing Ritual (a greater one)
Lesser Cleansing Ritual (something done on a more frequent basis in the way of prevention is the best medicine).
Basics of an exorcism and abjuration
Removing spells, curses, evil eye and fattura
Invocation
Invocation Versus Evocation
Invoking Deities and Spirits
Invoking Subtle Forces (ie. the elements, etc.)
Calling on powers
Enchantments
Evocation of spirits
Means and methods thereof
Mediums by which evocation may take place
The Four Elements
Earth: Banishing and Evoking Pentagram, Correspondences such as colour, direction, time etc.
Air: same as the above
Water: same as the above
Fire: same as the above.
The Basic List of Charms
Protective Charms
Apotropaic Charms
Against Malevolent Spirits and Malefica
Charms for Self-Empowerment
Charms for Luck
Charms for Good Fortune
Charms for Cleansing
Charms against sickness
and so on and so forth
---
Thereafter, once the basic set has been mastered - you can then choose to work into one of the "branches" of witchcraft. These could include:
Divinatory Witchcraft (primary specialization and skillset is in divination)
Herbal/Green Witchcraft (primary specialization and skillset is in green craft, genii loci, herbal medicine and magick)
and so on
Other Things
You can have more than two specializations, unfortunately the ideas of green witch and other labels have been taken so out of context that it's near toxic. So I just began referring to them as specializations because it simply means an area of interest and study in the craft rather than a binding word used to describe one's entire craft.
As you go along, you'll find things such as meditations, exercizes and the like - use those to develop the basic set of skills further.
I also highly encourage the development of critical thinking and logic to be able to determine fact from fallacy, whether or not a spell is working by means of analyzing concrete results, signs and symbols and so on.
Your practice is never going to stay in the same place. There's going to be developments, ups and downs and just a lot of growth in various areas.

Witchcraft: Warding
Warding is the method of casting a shield or barrier to defend and protect a space, person, portal, or item or to deflect potential negative energies and dangers. This is a remarkably important intention to consider and practice. Warding where you sleep, shower, rest, eat, and preform rituals along with yourself and prevent you from many unwanted experiences and encounters.

Warding Correspondences:
Colors: Black and Red. Tools: Coffin Nails, Crystals, Graveyard Dirt, Horseshoes, Iron Pikes, Talismans, and Wands. Symbols: Hamsa, Evil Eye, Pentacles, Ankh, Eye of Horus, Mars, Aries, Celtic Knot, Celtic Cross, Algiz Rune, Pentagrams, and Sigils.

Warding Methods:
Covering or sealing mirrors with Warding sigils or Fabric when not in use.
Warding yourself, the space you rest, and space you clean yourself.
Tracing Warding Sigils with your fingers on doors and walls to fortify.
Scooting in or placing an object in non-inhabited seating locations.

Warding Instruments:
Crystals:
Black Jasper, Black Jet, Black Onyx, Black Tourmaline, Bloodstone, Obsidian, Nuumite, Shungite, Smokey Quartz, Sugilite, and Tigers Eye.

Witchcraft: Crafting Spells
Did you know you don’t have to use other peoples spells? You, yourself, can create your own individual spells for your own purposes regardless of your experience level. Below are some basic tips for making a spell worthy of writing down.
Naming:
The process of naming a spell is completely optional and always should be. It is my personal recommendation that a Spell Name should correlate with the intention of aforementioned spell. Implementing a simplified summary of the ceremony itself into the title can also be beneficial.
Planning:
Constructing a spell will require planning. Taking aspects such as correspondences, instruments, location, and weather into account can amplify the spell’s effect as well. I recommend cleansing and charging your items before preforming it, and resting your self to be full prepared with optimum energy.
Timing:
In magic, time has its own correspondences ranging from segments of the day to Moon Phase, Weekly, Monthly, and Seasonal correspondences. If you are going to preform a spell, you can utilize timing for stronger magical effects.
Instruments:
Instruments can be very diverse in variety but can be chosen based off of the correspondence or use of a particular item. For example, If your intention was to attract abundance and fortune, filling a Chalice with liquid could suffice perfectly. You are always the best magickal “tool.”
Activities:
What are you going to be doing with your tools to cast this spell? Will you be using a chant, song, or incantation during this ceremony? For example, if you want to banish something. screaming while you are throwing, burning, or burying something is you adding your own energy and labor into this spell.

Ways to get in tune with nature
Observe which plants grow in your area.
Find out which are native and which are introduced.
Observe when they flower, seed, and die off/go dormant.
Observe the weather patterns. When does it get warm? When does it get cold? When do you get the most rain? Etc.
Observe what kinds of bugs you have. Observe when they appear, mate, die off, etc.
Observe what kinds of birds you have. Observe which are migratory and which are not. Observe when the migratory birds appear and leave.
Pay attention to how sights, sounds, and scents change throughout the year and at different times of day.

Wards
What are wards?
Wards are energetic barriers around a space, such as a room or a house. They are barriers that you set the perimeters and rules of. You decide what can cross those barriers, and what cannot. They also use energy to sustain them, which is very draining if you're only using your energy.
How do you create wards?
Two very important details when creating wards are: What can cross the barrier, or the rules, and what will power the wards. In my most recent wards, I have a very simple set up for the rules. No uninvited spirit or energy can enter, once invited they are welcome any time, and if I tell them to leave they cannot enter unless invited again. I use crystals to help provide energy for the wards, and I recharge them every full moon.
Below are 2 different methods for creating wards, and a recharging method for both of them.
Method 1 - Crystals and Visualization
First, decide the rules of your wards. Who and what is allowed to cross the barrier? Is this just to keep beings with negative intentions out? If there are specific spirits or energies you are trying to keep out, make note of that. Be as specific as you can. Write your rules down on a piece of paper.
Next, place a small piece of hematite in each corner of the room.
Sit down on the floor anywhere in the room. Hold another crystal in your hands. Clear quartz or some type of calcite are good for this because they are easy to find, and also act as an energy filter.
Visualize a light of energy coming from your hands and going in to the crystal. Then, visualize that energy connecting to the 4 smaller crystals, creating a sort of pyramid shape of energy lines.
Visualize those energy lines expanding and forming a bubble around the room, above and below it.
Say the rules you created for your wards while still visualizing the energy bubble. You can say these out loud or in your head.
Finally, place the paper you wrote with the rules of your wards underneath the crystal you held in your hands. This can be anywhere in the room.
Method 2 - Without Visualization
This is very similar to the first method, just replacing the visualization with feeling energy. I actually like to mix these two methods together when I create my wards.
First, decide the rules of your wards. Be as specific as you can. Write these down on a piece of paper.
Next, place a small piece of hematite in each corner of the room.
Then, sit down on the floor anywhere in the room. Hold another crystal in your hands. Clear quartz or some type of calcite are good for this because they are easy to find, and also act as an energy filter.
Imagine that your hands and the crystal between them are getting warm.
Feel the energy expanding, and the warmth surrounding you now.
Say the rules you created for your wards. You can say them out loud or in your head.
Finally, place the piece of paper you wrote the rules on under the crystal you held in your hands
Recharging Wards with The Full Moon - Visualization
Since wards need energy to sustain them, they also need recharged occasionally. The full moon is a great time todo this. Another good time is on the event of any celestial occurrences, such as eclipses, planetary alignments, etc.
Have a seat on the floor anywhere inside the room, holding the same crystal you used to create the wards originally.
Visualize the full moon in the sky above you. See the energy of the moon flowing into the crystal in your hands.
Visualize energy lines connecting the crystals, and then expanding into an energy bubble surrounding the room once again.
Say the rules of your wards.
Finally, place the crystal back where you had it.
Recharging Wards with The Full Moon - Without Visualization
Sit on the floor, anywhere in the room, and hold the crystal you used originally in your hands.
Feel the cool energy of the moon reaching the crystal, making both the crystal and your hands cold.
Feel that energy expanding, surrounding you and the room.
Say the rules of your wards.
Finally, place the crystal back where you had it.

Yo so....
Witchcraft is actually hella customizable. You can invent shit. I don't know how this: "By the book, uber traditional, heavily controlled" thing gained so much traction, but...
You can make your own holidays
You can make your own Gods
You can design your own divination methods
You can make sigils -however the fuck you want
You can create your own theory on energy systems based on your personal experience
Write your own ethics and codes of conduct
Describe crystals or herbs by their ENERGY instead of a keyword list you got off Pinterest
Cleanse in a completely different way than the books tell you to
Literally the possibilities are unfathomably endless. And I've successfully done all of these. Go forth and get weird with it.
