THE OTHER SIDE in which haneul attends a fansign

at what point does this all stop feeling like a dream?

he's been to a fansign before, but he had always been on the side of being the fan. he's never been the one who had fans. and it's genuinely so surreal that he doesn't really know how to process it still.

it kind of feels like he's just going through the motions but he's been having a lot of fun interacting with vybe's new fans, even when they're not his fans. he truly understands now, how every person can like a different member and he's always honoured whenever he sees that people are holding pickets of his face or holding signs with his name on it.

he tries his best to remember his fans, if not by name at least by their face. it's not as hard as he thought it would be, considering that their more dedicated fans have been coming to multiple fansigns. honestly, as someone who's been to a fansign before, he really admires how they're spending so much money to be able to do this.

truly, haneul is honoured.

so he does his best to give the fans good interactions, things that will make them want to come back. little things that they can post online if they wanted, like finger hearts, cheek hearts, winks and other things that aren't too hard to do but he knows that if he was on the receiving end, he would also be fangirling.

it's fun and he can't wait to do this for the rest of his life.

BRAND AMBASSADOR? in which haneul focuses on modelling for musinsa

everything that happened after debut really happened so fast. even meeting with lime's ceo had been a surprise, considering he hadn't really thought he would ever be in the same room as the guy—let alone being talked to directly.

on the bright side, all of these opportunities that were showing up were ones that he could've never even dreamed were possibilities.

it's even funnier, knowing that his mom shopped at musinsa regularly and haneul wonders offhandedly during the shoot whether she'll try to track him down if she saw his face on the walls. though, part of him thinks she'll probably gaslight herself into thinking it's not him.

he'll worry about that in the future if it ever comes up.

for now, he has to focus on looking cool for the photoshoot.

there's a few handful of poses that he always pulls out for these photo nowadays, and he thinks that they turn out well. when he's monitoring himself afterwards, he nods a little to himself and asks his members for their opinions to see if they have any advice since they're all new to this and all working together to make themselves the best versions of themselves.

he hopes it all turns out good.

and he also can't wait to go into a musinsa and see himself on the wall.

he's not sure when this will all stop feeling like he's dreaming. though, part of him doesn't want it to ever stop feeling like that. he doesn't want to become someone who doesn't feel in awe of the career he's chosen, and he wants to be someone who seems down to earth when it comes to the realm of kpop idols.

for now at least, he still feels like he's on cloud nine. though, honestly, haneul doesn't think it'll ever stop feeling like that.

watching seojun throw up some hearts at the fans makes him laugh a little to himself, unable to stop the grin from appearing on his lips. considering he was a fan of groups too, it's not anything new to see an idol do things like that. but maybe because it's his best friend, who he lives with and has seen freshly woken up and disheveled, it's kinda a funny image for him. he's sure it's the same for seojun too.

he peers out the window and waves at people who he can see holding pickets or banners with his name or face on them, wanting them to know that he's acknowledging them. he wonders how many of them they'll see at fansigns later this promotion period.

"this still doesn't feel real right? is it just me?" he asks after a moment of just gazing outside. "i can't believe we have fans."

he's happy with how this all went. he gets to be beside his best friend as the two of them debut together. if haneul hadn't joined lime, he wouldn't have known what to do. he knows doing all this will be so much better with his best friend beside him. plus he likes that they still get to live together even if it's with other people around now.

though they have been preparing a lot for this, it still feels like seojun is just living through a dream. he doesn't wanna wake up from it if that were the case.

he's already made sure that it wasn't a dream too many times so he doesn't wanna pinch himself again.

seojun knows how the fans feels seeing them. he was the same way and plus with him being a fan himself of other groups, he gets their feelings. he finds it cute seeing the fans reaction after seeing his answer, finding himself wanting to make hearts towards them to show he adores them in some way.

looking towards haneul, he can't help the fond smile on his lips before he is playfully nudging him a bit. he sense haneul would pick that answer. he knows his best friend too well at this point.

genuinely he feels happy that they've somehow made it here. and the fact that he was able to debut alongside his best friend is something that still feels surreal, but is getting more and more amazing everyday. part of his still feels like he can't believe it, but waking up and seeing seojun in the dorms is a great reminder that this really did happen.

idol radio also feels like a dream to him. even when they're talking to the hosts and performing their song, haneul kind of feels like he's floating in a dream.

genuinely, he's had to pinch himself so many times since their debut.

having fans is also ... very strange. in a good way. considering that he's a fan of a few different groups too, he can understand their position. he watches seojun quietly, already sure of which answer his friend was going to pick and he grins when seojun holds up one finger as expected.

he knows the fan probably doesn't care for his answer, since she had a homemade picket with seojun's name on it but he shakes his head playfully and then holds up three fingers for his own answer.

seojun feels like he's dreaming. he's watched too many idols in these same chairs and now here he was with fans outside. he never thought he'd be on this side ever but here he was. he didn't know if he was excited or nervous at the moment. both feelings were fighting him while he sat with the others.

he keeps repeating in his head that this is real and not a dream. his younger self would be proud.

whenever he's not involved in something too much, he finds himself looking around or just looking towards the window at the fans. he can't help but flash smiles towards them with how happy he's feeling. plus getting to experience this alongside his best friend gives him a different feeling that he loves more than anything.

he's surprised they have fans gathers. he's sure people were waiting for a lime group to debut and he's elated that he gets to be apart of it. he looks towards haneul and once he's tugged around to what is going on, he can't help but smile upon seeing the fan. he looks over the sign, thinking carefully before picking an answer. all a good in his eyes but he knows his go to. he put up one finger, showing that he picked number one so the fan understood.

he doesn't want to jinx them by saying that he doesn't think they'll win so he stays silent, just squeezing noel's hand tighter. it's been a hard journey, but haneul agrees that he wouldn't have wanted to have experienced this with anyone else. the members were all here because they had worked so hard to be here, and he had been hoping and praying for this day to come.

it might not be their first win yet, but he knows that if they keep working hard, it would only be a matter of time before it was.

"i'm glad it's with you guys," he says quietly, knowing that their voices wouldn't be picked up since the mcs were talking about the score and the songs that were nominated. this was only for noel to hear anyway. no shade to his former group, but he knows that this is where he belongs. with vybe. "i'm just happy to be on this stage, honestly."

even now, standing on stage, it was still hard to believe they had really debuted. so much had happened in such a short time, noel had joined next gen, then become a trainee, joined project green and now he was officially a member of lime’s new boy group: vybe. though noel hadn’t chased the idol dream for long, he could tell, this is what he wanted to do with his life, he was happy to be an idol.

there were so many milestones he wished he and his members would reach, like ten million views on a music video, winning a music show award, selling out a concert. noel didn’t see himself as the nervous type, yet here he stands, holding onto haneul’s hand tightly as he bites his lip. “i’m happy that it’s you guys i’m standing on stage with” noel shows a smile to the shorter “whether we win today or not, i’m still proud of us”.

hanna isn’t always so openly forthcoming with her inner thoughts and feelings but she can’t deny that she’s honestly happy for–and proud of–haneul finally debuting. she was already glad that he had gotten into another (more reputable and hopefully, reliable) company to begin with, especially considering their previous company was the absolute worst, but to see him finally debut? well, she could at least congratulate him on that.

     he’s still reeling from seeing the music video get published in real time, having stopped everything he was doing so he could refresh the vybe youtube channel over and over and over starting from 5 minutes before 6pm. he watched the music video with full anticipation and had almost dropped his phone when he saw his own face on the screen.

     it was absolutely surreal and haneul still couldn’t really believe that it was actually happening. he didn’t scroll to read the comments just yet, not wanting to concern himself with that just yet, knowing he would probably end up doomscrolling through them when he couldn’t sleep later.

     he’s about to press the replay button to watch the music video again when he sees the notifications pop up at the top of his screen. it takes a moment before it processes that other people are seeing this music video too. he’s not sure why, in his brain, it had just been him in his little bubble, with the other vybe members. and that this isn’t a debut. but it is. 

     and other people are watching the music video too. people he knows.

     crazy. 

     tapping on the notification so that he can distract himself from the possible spiral he might get into accidentally, haneul laughs a little when he reads the messages from hanna. it’s funny, because she’s obviously joking and teasing him but he can read between the lines relatively well when it comes to hanna. and he can tell she’s genuinely happy for him. but of course he has to respond in kind.

debut happening was still crazy to think about, even now when standing on the music show stage, noel couldn’t help but think ‘is this really real?’. it felt like it had taken ages, but that time had passed by in no time at the same time. next gen noel wouldn’t have believed this could happen, all that scolding on the show, he feared he’d stay talentless for forever. he’s still unsure how he got his contract with lime entertainment, but he was quite thankful for it, lime had helped him come a long way.

rather than looking out at the crowd, noel finds himself staring at his fellow members, these will be people he’ll hopefully know for a long time. he wants to do it all with his members, go through the good and tough times together. noel’s eyes land on haneul ( @behaneul ) who is standing beside him, without much thought he grabs the other’s hand and intertwine their fingers “i’m nervous” he whispers to the younger.

* the (un)real

a vybe mission 3 starter for @beseojun

honestly, never in a million years would he have thought he would be sitting in these chairs with their fans (!!!) outside waiting to see them. it's especially surreal because he himself has sat on those benches outside to get a glimpse of an idol. but now he's on the other side.

it's so unreal that he finds himself pinching his thigh every once and a while to remind himself that he's not dreaming.

he finds himself distracted during the segments that he's not too involved in, just looking out the window and waving at the fans whenever he has a chance. there's a lot of paper signs with questions on them and he squints a little to read them, wanting to answer any if he could because he wanted this experience to be good for anyone who was there.

it's still unreal that they have fans to begin with. during a little break, he notices on that's asking for seojun's attention and he turns to his best friend to tug him over and point it out. the fan gets excited when they look at her, and holds the sign up so they can read it more clearly.

best midnight snack? 1. ramyeon 2. fried chicken 3. ddeokbokki

"i'm happy with how everything is working out," he agrees easily, and part of him really wants to spill everything. but he knows he's not allowed to, considering how secretive the company was being even if they had performed at some of the bigger events already so far. there really hasn't been too much confirmed yet, so he's trying his best to keep a lid on it.

even if, more than anything, he would love to tell a friend.

hearing yuji hum the melody too, only adds to it. he had liked siren from the first listen, feeling very excited about the prospect of that being one of their first songs that people would remember them for. and would hopefully make a big impact once they've debuted. it's wishful thinking on his part, of course, but he really is very excited.

"yeah ..." he hesitates on saying much more, not really sure how much he would accidentally yap about if given the chance and he tries to think of anything he could mention without giving away too much. "i moved recently ... i miss seojun's cat more than i miss anything else, honestly."

hectic, but probably fulfilling. yuji hasn't heard the words herself, but with how much work the lime boys are putting in-- surely it's towards something big. it's all speculation on her part, her nosiness growing at the secrecy because why else would everyone be so tight lipped about it? that feeling of jealousy tugs in her gut, but yuji taps it down with a smile and a hum.

there's no use in being envious. good things come to those who wait, and all yuji has to do is bite her tongue and just-- be patient.

"it's good though. to see you guys performing so often." it's been gradual, a show-off presentation that stems a lot of questions and attention. "at least you're not locked away in a dungeon somewhere." the corner of her mouth quirks up, mostly joking. there's some truth to it-- that happens to people in companies sometimes. she wouldn't wish that upon haneul, or anyone, for that matter.

yuji hums, smiling at haneul's grin. "it's good. the instrumental..." she trails off, humming the part she remembers the most. "i was impressed. you guys killed it."

it's no surprise. they have a pretty decent lineup-- a force to be reckoned with. yuji pauses, tilting her head to the side. "everything else been good with you? besides all the," she lifts a hand to vaguely gesture. "training."

honestly, haneul has woken up a few times the past month only to pinch himself (and immediately yelp after in pain) to make sure that this was real and that this was happening. genuinely, he's kinda still in shock that it's really happening because he hadn't been able to go this far in his last company.

he's probably sounding like a broken record, constantly comparing this round of being a trainee to his last bout of doing it, but it's hard not to be making comparisons when both times had been so vastly different.

it's hard to believe that after his dream had been so rudely ripped from his hands, that it's within reach again.

the entire process is honestly, very straight forward and nothing too out of the ordinary. nothing really is as crazy as he thought it might be when he was getting on set, and unsurprisingly, haneul enjoys every second of it.

everything still feels kind of surreal but after recording the song and listening to it playing over the speakers for almost the entire day, it's somehow made it feel more like he's not in an alternate reality anymore.

it all feels like it's real. tangible. within reach.

and this time, haneul isn't going to let it slip through fingers again. not this time. not if he can help it.

he's not going to deny that he's very disappointed with the new roommate assignments. not even just because he's not with seojun anymore, but mostly because he's with a manager. and not even the manager that he liked! he sighed, but still set up his room the way that he would've if he was with seojun, adding a ghibli poster to the wall and then asking for permission with his desk. it's not the same, but it'll do.

he'll just make more excuses to bother his friends outside of his room.

that aside, everything else about their upcoming debut is very exciting. haneul hopes that the general public will take it well, because he personally really likes their songs. and he hopes that the mv will turn out good too. "oh, thank you!" he says happily, cheeks bunching up in a genuine, somewhat shy smile. a compliment from his best friend trumps a compliment from anyone else.

"did you shoot your scenes yet?" he asks, reaching out to poke his best friend's cheek, right where his dimple usually showed up. "i'll come watch if you haven't!"

seojun knows that things chance but he can't help but be a little sad he isn't rooming with haneul anymore. sure he'd get used to it but the other male had always been his comfort and now he'd have to just get used to waking up and seeing one of their other members instead. he doesn't let that ruin things for him with their debut preparations though. if anything he'd more pumped up then ever, ignoring the way his nerves were hitting him. so much was happening and his emotions were just all over the place.

right now, he's preparing to take the photos for their debut teasers and can't help but watch haneul doing his. a smile spreads across his lips as he watches, taking in the other's features as he poses in the right ways he's asked. he's so down bad that it hurts and he hasn't even confessed his feelings to his best friend yet. "you did so well, hannie. looked very handsome." he complimented once he saw the other male step away from the cameras. he couldn't help himself and wanted to slip in a compliment for his best friend.

VALENTINE'S 2025 in which haneul thinks about how he would confess

if he were to confess now, to the person he currently has a crush on, it would be something mundane probably. maybe it's because it's been so long and they're such good friends that it's hard to think that there might need to be something big and dramatic.

honestly, if he were to do it, haneul would probably want to make a homecooked meal for the person, since that's his other talent outside of things that he needs to be good at to be an idol.

he would like to do something special, like steak with some good sides. there are a few videos that he's saved for occasions like this, though he doubts that he'll have time to do anything special like this anytime soon, if only because he's so busy with project green and he would like to cook for all the members instead if he has the time to do it.

but he would want to do something romantic like a candlelit homemade dinner, with steak and sides of potatoes and other things. it would probably give it away that it was a confession but hopefully that would go well for him, considering who it is.

though, in reality, he's content with their relationship and wouldn't necessarily want to confess, if only because he's afraid of losing something that's already so good.
