“Sounds like my kind of plan,” the nonexistent kind, that is. Following the other’s quick pace, Adonis wondered how he could seem so lighthearted in a place like this-- But did so in admiration, hoping he could also feel a little less heavy and somber. “Not long, I barely know the place. You?”
“No idea,” Icarus shook his head, it was honest, at least, “That’s what we’re going to find out,” by this point, he was already running a bit forward, “How long have you been here again? That’ll help decide.” He asked the question like this wasn’t death, just a trip, just a trip, death was too hard to think about for Icarus at times.

“Oh,” Surprised by the other’s presence, he goes quiet for a moment-- But only a moment, before continuing. “You sound like you know the place. Are you... Hades? No, I’ve seen Hades before... You must be... Don’t tell me--... I got it. You’re...”
“Do not worry. You are not the first to have that reaction when coming here.”

mortals dying in the arms of their immortal lovers may well be the most painful thing that fiction has ever given to me

“Close to her?” He repeated, wondering if that closeness was a platonic one or... otherwise. Nonetheless, he grinned at the other’s words, making his response far too easy. “Of course I am not worthy, I’m merely a mortal and she a goddess. How can I be worthy of such attention? I suppose you’ll have to start thinking of what you have to do with me now.”
“Aphrodite’s,” he replied rather quickly. “My name is Ganymede. I am close to her, so I am simply curious as to whether or not you are worthy of her attention. If you are not, I am not sure what I will have to do.”

“– Oh, Poseidon?” He addressed, quite startled by the God’s sudden appearance out of nowhere. “Are you just everywhere, all the time? Can you hear things through the ocean? Was I… swimming inside you, just then?”
“Then it’s best you forget it boy.”

"Yes, but-- Do they usually come this close to the shore?” He hesitated, watching the creatures swim towards them both-- Likely attracted to the presence of the woman beside him. Nonetheless, one of them poked it’s head out of the water, and suddenly they seemed a lot larger up close. “W- Whoa, are they usually this friendly?”
“They were simply playing a game, the sea creatures.” She tilted her head at Adonis, as they looked over at the shore, “That is what you mean, yes?”

“You think I’m pretty?” He joked, used to the other’s antagonistic nature by now. “Means a lot, coming from a pretty boy like yourself.”
“Aw, pretty boy, I think it is better you don’t.”

“...” He paused, unsure if it was a trick question, for him the answer seemed too obvious. “... No. No I don’t think I would like to see it again.”
“Do you want to see it again?”

“You’re... probably right.” He agreed without argument, before tearing his eyes away and trying to find something else to look at-- Maybe the goddess right in front of him, if she weren’t slightly scary herself. “Surely there must be something a little less... horrifying to look at down here.”
“It’s the fields of punishment, dear. You don’t want to understand what you just saw.”

“… Okay, fine, fine,” he sighed, eventually giving in to the other’s enthusiasm with a grin of his own growing on his features. Admittedly, there was something contagious about Icarus that brought on Adonis’ own smile, which was quite less common in the Underworld than it used to be. “So… What exactly are we doing again?”
“I’m serious, that’s exactly what he does when he thinks no one’s around. Come on, you’re going to miss it, through,” Icarus went on in his horrible attempt at convincing Adonis to join him in his exploration of the day.
