Looking through old negatives lastnight I found this gem. They are all but gone. Twenty-nine #American men that arguably played one of the most pivotal roles in WWII. The #NavajoCodeTalkers spoke the unbreakable code, their native language, to keep the flow of information from German ears . This is Allen June. I photographed him in Longmont, CO before his passing in 2010. It was 65 years later, in 2010, that him and 8 other still living original code talkers who developed the code were finally honored with a Congressional Metal of Honor for the quintessential part they played in #WWII. They are all but gone, but their story lives. (at Putnam Castle)
