Yeah and even though Logan was a HUGE asshole, he was never anywhere on Dick’s level. What Dick did was way worse. He did not participate in taking Veronica to the room and telling Cassidy to rape her. I personally think Logan would never stoop that low. Yes he also atoned for his actions and grew and change where as Dick who was WAY worse did nothing it was never brought up again.

Saw someone say Logan's redemption is bad because, "we shouldn't have the idea that shitty, rich, white teenagers can grow and change!" Except, they can. Part 3 i'm annoying

Yeah Logan was a problematic asshole at times, stemming from harmful ideals being shoved down his throat since childhood and being a rich teen boy in that time period. It totally makes sense to me why Logan would be like that, I feel like it unlikely someone in his position wouldn't be. If u look at his actions rather than words, it doesn't seem like he really believes half the shit he says. Not ok but u get what I mean, he grew out of it. Weevil tortured and tried to kill Logan, killed Thumper (valid), just a lot of crime stuff. It totally makes sense why he would be like that, being on the side of Neptune where he kind of felt the need to do that, and when someone from his gang got murdered, he took it very personally. Again, not an excuse but it makes sense. But oh god do I HATE this whole, Logan is a rich and privileged asshole and he has all this money to support him whereas Weevil has to support himself and his family. Let us remind you they BOTH HAD HARD LIVES IN DIFFERENT WAYS. Logan is rich and privileged yes, but he was also fucking abused his whole life and had no loving family or anyone to look out for him. Logan may have had the money but he needed to support himself financially. However he had to support himself mentally and emotionally so he could graduate, go to college, get a job and, you know, not fucking kill himself. Weevil had to support himself financially, but had a loving grandmother and family. The two were probably jealous of each other in different ways, and they both had reasons to be. The controversial house thing where I see people say. Weevil burned down Logan's house but Logan can just get a new place and Weevil can't. I definitely think it was the wrong move tho evict them (even when we have no evidence about whether or not he went through with it) but fuck if someone burnt down my HOME that had all my stuff including my DEAD MOTHERS BELONGINGS AND ONLY REMINDERS OF HER, I would be so pissed off, sorry. I wouldn't really be thinking about the other persons feelings if THEY DID IT TO ME FIRST. I feel bad for both but oh my god we need to be a little bit more understanding Logan didn't owe Weevil any kindness or mercy at that point even if I disagree with what he did. My point is I love them both but we have to stop pitting them against each other. They both do good and bad things and are honestly the same person. Veronica is also really problematic in her own way (love her) but like please let's be serious now. Oh and uhh Logan/Veronica weren't equals argument is dumb she literally planted s bong in his locker and did a bunch of other shit to piss him off she was never afraid of that man please. He was a bitch to her ONLY because he blamed her for Lily's death btw as well, they were never oppressor/oppressed and saying that is honestly offensive to Veronica and all her badassery. God this take that Logan, the longterm abuse victim, "deserved the abuse," is gross and weird as if he wasn't acting out like that because of the abuse in the first place like oh my god. Or "he deserved to die," no the abuse and trauma survivor who has tried to kill himself multiple times did not deserve to fucking die after they go to therapy and put in the work to heal and become a good person and finally find peace and happiness just because you didn't like him. wtf. Anyways sorry this was so long I'm just sick of being demonised for loving Logan (a fictional character) and people act like I don't know what he did. I have many reasons why I like him while recognising his poor behaviour thank you and his death was unfair and devastating and poor writing. Oh and the people preaching "it's noir!" About his death (no blowing up on ur wedding day isn't noir), complain about Logan being problematic when that is supposed to be noir like what do u want, do u want him to stay the same or smt? Part 2 because I have no life

Anyways, I can think of a billion teen drama boys Logan's behaviour pales in comparison to (e.g. Chuck Bass. No they are NOT the same Logan would never dream of selling V for a hotel or forcing himself on a 14 year old). I reckon Logan is one of the only "reformed bad boys" with genuine growth, there I said it. HE WENT TO THERAPYYY HOW MANY REFORMED TV BAD BOYS WENT TO THERAPYYY OMD. Also Logan has been being exploited since the day he was born, cameras and paparazzi in his face at all times, thats gotta fuck you up. Not to mention seeing Aaron out in public vs behind closed doors. Oh and people saying the show and the audience shouldn't romanticize "toxic rich boys like that." I fear you did not watch the show the narrative demonises Logan SO FUCKING MUCH. The real romanticisation was Duncan, who is horrible yet is treated like the best boyfriend ever. ALSO AARON HAS PROBABLY BEEN FEEDING HIM TOXIC IDEALS ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE LESSER THAN THEM SINCE HE WAS A CHILD. Logan was able to disconnect himself from those harmful ideals and form his own moral ground as he grew up, which is really impressive for someone with literally no support. He also managed to graduate after being recently orphaned. Trust me most Logan fans recognise he does horrible things, a lot of us just understand the reasoning behind it and enjoy his growth. Also don't tell me who to like or not like in fiction. Like it's not like I'M the one who gave him a redemption arc please. Also "Logan never had to pay for his actions." We can't be for real right now. The shit that CHILD went through both because of his mistakes and a lot of the time of no reason is horrid. Anytime Logan fucked up in the tiniest way he was beat at home (usually because it hurt Aaron's reputation) WITH A BELT HE HAD TO CHOOSE. Thats a whole other level of psychological abuse. He was rude to the biker gang? Guess what they beat, torture him and frame him for murder. Is constantly cheated on/not trusted by his girlfriends. Constantly demonised in his attempts (even if they aren't the best) to protect Veronica. Most of all having to face his OWN GUILT AND REMORSE forever. So many other things I can't go into right now. Now to the whole other characters issue. VERONICA'S OTHER LOVE INTERESTS ARE NOT BETTER. I've already talked about Duncan. Now Piz. "Veronica should have been with Piz because he was such a nice guy!" The guy creepily obsessed with her since the beginning and constantly made advances on her when HE KNEW SHE HAD A BOYFRIEND. Lied his way into a date with her, tried to convince Logan she was unloyal, manipulative, never stood up for her etc. The only reason he was "nice" was because he had a crush on her. The real "toxic romanticisation" isn't liking Logan because he is "bad" it is thinking you owe the guy you have 0 feelings for who has literally borderline stalked you, ANYTHING, just because he has treated you with halfway decent respect. Which Rob Thomas and his little clan of followers have tried to push on "silly little fangirls" since the beginning. Leo, the 20 year old cop who dated 17 year old grade 11 Veronica. The age gap itself is less of a problem rather than the power imbalance. He also sold child porn of a minor, yes he was trying to help his sister, HE STILL SOLD CHILD PORN OF A MINOR. Logan (THE TEEN) is WAYYY more demonised for destroying the tapes to protect his dead, underage girlfriend from ending up all over the internet without her consent than Leo (THE ADULT) is blamed for selling them. Him coming back in s4 to...ew. I think the second most popular ship in the fandom in WeeVer. I get it, it's just not for me, I prefer them platonic. Weevil is one of my favs, he is literally my baby and was fucked over SO BADLY in s4. However I wish people didn't constantly pit Logan and Weevil against each other. Like, they are literally the same people with different financial status and if they were swapped I believe they would act the way the other does in that situation if that makes sense. Part 3....

This will be very long I fear but I have way too many emotions about a fictional character and way too much free time.

People who hate Logan Echolls and proceed to pretend like everyone else on the show is an angel. See every time I look up my boys name this fucking "Logan is the worst article" pops up every single goddamn time and it drives me insane. Like yes, I've read it and it just says everything bad he has done? Like yes I fucking know? Uhh first off it's a noir tv show. Characters in those shows are SUPPOSED to be fucking problematic because THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. Second, the bum fights were obviously horrible and disgusting but I had this whole mistake where people say he "MADE" them fight each other. Like yes obviously they shouldn't be pit against each other but I truly think Logan is just constantly lashing out and seeing how far he can push the boundaries of self destruction. Oh! And Aaron didn't even beat him for that, he beat him because he made him donate money to charity but more on that later. Third, the worst argument I ever see is blaming Logan for what happened at Shelly's party because "he brought the drugs" like did y'all miss the scene where he says he was using them to party and have fun? Like yes, it was irresponsible but he was like 15 and didn't think it through? One of his friends would have ended up brining the drugs to the party either way. Or him spiking Duncan, which yes, was terrible. HOWEVER, in Logan's fucked up head he thought he was helping Duncan relax and forget about Lily. It was stupid but his intentions were good. The worst thing he did at that part (and the worst thing he did in general imo) was the salt lick (which I am sure he would not have done if he knew about her being spiked, he was humiliating her but in his head he is like "she got drunk and is humiliating herself" because of how furious he is with her at the time). It is still horrible and inexcusable, but brings me to my next point. HE IS TTHE ONLY ONE AT THAT PARTY WHO ACTUALLY FUCKING APOLOGISES AND TAKES FULL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. Dick and etc were purposely getting her drunk and shoving unwanted liquor down her throat to get her to make out with people. Then they carried her into the bedroom and said disgusting things about her. Then Dick tells Cassidy to rape her AND HE ACTUALLY DOES?! WTF?! Does Dick ever apologise? No. Don't even get me STARTTTEDDD on Duncan. It instantly stops being SA because he was drugged? Well he remembered everything and Veronica remembered nothing. He cleaned up after himself after the whole thing happened and then LEFT HER THERE?! Then when she confronted him about it he screamed in her face and got super defensive. "You were raped? But what about me me me?" Contrast to Logan who is horrified to hear what happened and doesn't think about himself and is like, "What can I do?" Then when Veronica apologises for accusing him he is all like, "It's ok, don't worry about me, are you okay?" Oh and uhh Rob? Being drugged does not mean you automatically forget someone is your sister and allows you to withhold that information. Hope that helps! Basically everyone at that party was doing horrible things to her or sitting by and letting it happen and only ONE person apologises. That person is Logan. Oh and most of these Logan haters love to overlook the fact that Logan was basically SA'd by Kendall all of s2 but thats a whole different conversation. I actually saw someone say he was horrible for having an affair with his best friends stepmom like ouuu babe you are soooo weird for saying that the victim blaming is wild. Fourth, this whole "Teenagers act out but they aren't that horrible." Most teenagers don't have Aaron Echolls as a father but ok. Logan's literally only guiding moral figure is a pedophilic murderer rapist psychopath who abused him since he was a small child (the pear story isn't talked about enough) and Logan isn't any of those things. It honestly is a miracle he isn't 1000x WORSE. Anyways part 2 coming
