I know for a fact that this has been posted elsewhere on Tumblr, but I wanted to share this:

This is a document ful of resources about things you can do politically that are not voting or going to protests. As a disabled person who struggles at protests, this is incredibly valuable. It has tons of resources about mutual aid, political education, migrant justice, disability justice, and much much more.

Urban Magick: Desire Paths

Put simply, a desire path is a strip of soil or land that's was eroded overtime due to animal or human foot traffic. The primary goal of these paths is to create something that is shorter and easier to traverse rather than the original path. Sometimes, when done by cars on a strip of veld, it's called Bundu Bashing. They could theoretically be considered crossroads as they connect to the main path but also go off route to cut the distance the path usually takes.

Example of a Desire Path

Since they're made by activity (I.e. erosion by movement), they can be considered more active. Their convenience also places a slight Mercurial aspect relating to the quick effect or the desire for quicker effects, alongside the movement of energy from a set path.

As with typical crossroads, one might understand this as an opportune place to leave offerings. One could theoretically also assume them to be tied to social magick and "attacks on reality" as they are more closely tied to people and animals moving on them rather than the fixed route.

Possible affinities can also include cutting time for petitions, blockage removal, revealing new pathways to the same object and so on.

Depending on the colour of sand, further ideas might be taken. The sand in my area is red due to oxidized iron, so red sand would obviously carry the connotation of Mars and protection, while also emphasizing Mars as the Dominator and Overcomer of Obstacles.

Protester Protection & World Peace Efforts 🌎🖤

I won’t be going out to protest today (I have some serious trauma from past protests) but I will be doing a protection spell for the protesters in my neighborhood and a world peace effort.

In case anyone else can’t join the frontlines, here are the spells I’ll be casting. Maybe if enough witches direct their energy towards the cause, we could make a difference.

Here’s what you need:

Black chime candle

Blue chime candle

Protection oil (or any anointing oil)

Gaia or Earth oil (or any anointing oil)

Dried lavender, for peace & protection

Poster from the specific protest you’d like to add protection to (I have one that will be displayed on my phone)

A playlist of upbeat songs that represent global unity and peace

Here’s what you do:

It’s important to do this working before your local protests start. High noon would be a perfect time. Begin by casting your protections and calling in any Spirits who would like to help this peaceful working.

On the black candle, inscribe a protective sigil (or write “protect”) along with the name of the group you’re protecting. Place the candle on top of the protect flyer as you work on the next candle. Imagine the candle being programmed to protect all those in attendance who believe in the cause.

On the blue candle, inscribe a sigil of peace and write “Earth” or “world peace.” Imagine the candle as a representative of our planet.

Grind up some dried lavender on a mortar and pestle (or whatever you use).

Anoint the black candle with its protective oil, and dress it in the lavender.

Anoint the blue candle with Gaia oil and dress it in any leftover lavender. Set the two candles side by side.

Light the black candle and pray sincerely for the protection of protestors. Imagine a white sphere of protection and light emanating from you. Imagine sending that sphere to the protest area or your city. Meditate on this.

As the black candle burns, turn your attention to the blue candle. Light it while praying sincerely for peace on our planet, near and far. Here is a guided meditation that may help with sending this magick to the entire planet.

Allow the two candles to burn down. If the session must end before the candles are spent, light them again for fifteen minutes when the Sun is highest in the sky every day until they burn down to help protect future protestors of the same cause and to help add the energy of peace to our world.

After the ritual, end it with song and dance, to raise all vibrations and to send the spell off with an extra kick of positive energy. I suggest singing “What a Wonderful World” or any song that represents the cause or world peace to you.

The boat’s name is Madleen.

It carried no weapons, only diapers, medicine, and baby formula.

Yet 12 humanitarian activists including Greta Thunberg were arrested just for trying to show that Gaza deserves to live.

We live under siege, where hunger devours our bodies and death surrounds us.

The boat didn’t make it.

But we’re still here, facing pain and holding on to hope.

If Madleen couldn’t reach us… maybe you still can.
